I am deeply sorry to hear that you are not able to continue your journey while playing with friend due to such an issue.
Can you please get back to us if disabling Steam Overlay or restarting your PC fixes this issue? Additionally, your log files, that are in the directory below, would help a ton in fixing this.
You can find log files here: C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\LocalLow\IronOak Games\For The King II
You guys are doing great with pushing out the hot fixes.
I gave up trying to play this game this past weekend. I was trying to do a multiplayer session with 2 other friends, starting the game fresh. Before I joined, my other two friends had started a campaign only for the game to become soft locked 3 hours in. The entire UI becomes un-interactable, but the game is still running. You can click on portraits and see the focus change, but you can't bring up the pause menu or any other UI. On every player's screen, the end turn button has an hour glass like it's waiting for someone else to end their turn or something, but it just never happens. Re-loading the save doesn't work, neither do any other of the solutions that turn up in Google.
We tried a 3 person campaign after this and the same thing happened within 30 minutes. We've all using very standard gaming PC's running Windows and all have good internet. I'm not sure if we were experiencing the exact same issue as described here, but it sure seems like it. It really soured our experience on the game to dump hours into it only for our save file to become soft-locked and unusable. Claiming to have fixed it when it is not fixed is almost worse than the bug being unknown, because now I hesitate to even try playing the game again.
