The minecart mission in the swamp is some of the worst level design I've ever seen.
The mission is just agonizing, the minecarts still spawn too fast, the barrel explosion is wonky as hell and half the time doesn't even destroy the minecarts but will gladly kill your character. That mission just needs an entire revamp it's unbearable

It took me a while to really get what was going on with the barrels, but once I got them, I found the mission is actually sort of fun.

You see in the Timeline when the carts move, place the bomb in their way and when they move into it, they just make big boom boom, you can ignore the timer of the bombs completly. Skill Issue on your part.

The level design is fine, main tips for doing the minecart level (because if done with tact as the design is built for in strategy rpgs you can get 90 Lore on each run before turn 35) :


Use the landboat, it keeps all of your people together and can help you rush north to south faster to handle the minecart problem at the same pace as the scourges.

Keep someone with piercing in your party and do the caves & pirate hideouts whenever you can.

Considering the mass of enemies this chapter, woodcutter & hunter are your best friends because of Justice & Called Shot.

Equipping scholar/alchemist with a shock weapon that has blast to avoid constantly being melted.



Overall, its not a chapter for people who just like clicking buttons with little risk (Using up focus on movement) and doing lone-wolf gameplay.

in my experience u can completely ignore the minecarts. u will reach the final dungeon well before all the ports get destroyed.

That's also true, i just figured it would be easier to provide tips on how to basically stay at 0 chaos for eternity.
