How is this game for solo players?

I like the idea of this game but I always get really worried when a game heavily advertises coop. Is this the kind of game where there is a singleplayer mode but the game is clearly built around coop, or is it just as enjoyable solo?

Solo play is just as viable as co-op, because you're still playing a party of four, the only difference is you're controlling the whole party when playing solo.

It's enjoyable solo, but there is something that eventually reduces the enjoyment. I'm on part 3 and every single time one of your 4 heroes ends their turn there is a few second pause, almost like lag (even on a fast pc) and it rolls for movement distance. Even if you're good enough to do it in 50 rounds or less that's around 10-13 minutes of pause (3 or so seconds each time) as the game updates the environment or whatever it's doing.

Devs please do something to speed it up or let people mod it!

Update - it's closer to 18 minutes of end of turn "lag" per 50 rounds on chapter 3. 4-5 seconds per turn after ending turn for each of the 3 heroes, then the 4 and final hero takes about 8 seconds before you can move in the the new round.

You miss the interaction with friends but you can coordinate the whole party by yourself without having to discuss strategies and who gets what item.
So both modes have theier merits. Gameplaywise it's the same.

yea I love the game. I did notice this though
