I have noticed that some of the artifact weapons show much lower damage when in your backpack than they do when you actually equip them. Not sure why.
Base damage, then modification based on your equipped gear
It's not just that. Going back to Jeremy's sword, its default attack does roughly half the damage of the intterrupt attack (if i recall correctly its like a push attack for around 8 damage). But because it's listed first, the weapon damage shown on the item card (not in the ability descriptions on the back, the base DMG value shown on the front) corresponds with it, making you think the weapon does far less damage than it actually does at a glance.
beside behing able to do 2x push/daze melee enemies,
or 2x Iterrupt for big dmgs (with both combo applying x2 your Attack Dmg bonus)
you can also taunt each turn with it and do something else on a tank character (taunt+ armor up, or an attack, you get the idea)
you can also swap weapon, making you able to attack twice with let say, a huge 2 handed hammer or Sword
