Act 5 Help
I'm not a new player when it comes to FTK & FTK2. I eagerly awaited the release and I can honestly say that it is a great improvement on the first game. The developers are attempting new ideas and I love the expansion of the world pathing by the use of landboats. Great job devs.

Act 5 on Journeyman was supposed to be my warm up for the campaign until I switch it over to my master-class of dungeon-crawling. I am getting slightly annoyed with Act 5 as the areas the prisoners are held at awaiting execution is not accurate. I burned 4 vision scrolls in a circular pattern around the objective hint and there was nothing. After stumbling around, I found the first prisoner 31 tiles away from where the hint suggested I go. Okay it must be a fluke, let's try another go. This time I prioritized the landboat and made it a goal of mine to keep pathfinder moving towards the objective with a +1 or +2 to find distance. Got 2 out of the 5 prisoners in time.

*Checks difficulty* okay this is weird. It's still journeyman but I am being crushed with only 1 chaos on the board. Let's try a new build.

3rd attempt was scholar, pathfinder, stablehand, and everyone's favorite shielding wielding brute of a character. First prisoner went well. 2nd was super far and by the time I made it.....no prisoner to be found. Pathfinder on a wild goose chase and my team having to decide on leaving a prisoner once again. Found the 2nd prisoner 28 tiles away from the hint.

For my best guess, I would say the average move distance for a character in any given round is about 4 without focus. So you're telling me that I need RNG luck to just make it to the prisoner in time? I need to speed run to their locations and I cannot get unlucky with any wasted movements? But my objective is hidden so it's a guessing game.

I'm not sure if this is a glitch or if it is happening to others. I just cannot seem to get an accurate "hint" to where these prisoners are in act 5. Taking 4-5 rounds to just make it to the location and another 2-3 rounds to find them has put me behind.

I promise I'm a really good FTK player but this just doesn't seem possible. So I ask the folks that have figured out how to beat Act 5 on Journeyman+, what am I doing wrong?

Im actually not sure what prisoners you speak of in chapter 5? I know in chapter 4 you need to save the 5 people from being executed, but chapter 5 is about stopping the spread of the chaos refineries. In chapter 4, we were WAY ahead of schedule in journeyman. There were times where we didnt see the next chaos for a couple turns after we saved one.

If your speaking about chapter 4 and saving them from executions. the first one you need to follow the steps to locating him, then you go to search everywhere on the island for him till you find him.

the 2nd one is on the island north of the 1st guy. when you get there you search for a dungeon. It says so in the text when you find it. Its a small island, so doesnt take long to find it.

the 3rd one is between two islands east of the 2nd guy. You find a light house, then you see a queens boat that says hes on it. Then you go to the boat and save him.

4th one i cant remember.

last one should be in the town in the water. You have to defend against th siege in the town and hes saved, easy.

Thanks Tsuru. I was talking about Act 4. Foolish mistake. I did another run and tried to follow your suggestions of where to go. The 3rd one was a lot more north than east for me but I stumbled upon him when going after a random occurrence. Finally stumbled my way through it. My final take is that these "hints" are just a general direction from where you should begin your search. I ended up using teleport scrolls to save myself the walking turns and made it with some time to spare. I think my earlier run was in fact bugged because the prisoners are about 10 tiles away at most in the runs I just did. Not sure how I go so unlucky earlier.
