The issue is I kind of want to continue playing to get them but not when the goal is 'do some random thing you don't have any idea you need to do".
Like do I have everything from chapter 1 or don't I? How many times should I replay chapter 1 "just in case".
Also i always wondered, whats even the point of having some unlocks come after finishing the game. it's not like you need them to finish the game at that point, and it really isn't much of a driving factor to keep playing when you 1) don't know what they are / don't even know if you care if it's locked or not and 2) have no idea where/ what chapter to go after said unlock.
It would be helpful for a mouse over to at least tell us whats locked behind this card, so we can decide if we even care. THEN maybe I'll try to figure out the hidden criteria.
Also I still have not seen a whip in game though I have those unlocked, I don't even know what stat they use. There are two other weapons that are locked still which could bring new life to the game for me if they are cool ( and if they actually appear in the game once unlocked, don't forget about that because it's questionable atm).
Lastly, I find myself wondering if these other unlocks are actually even in the game or if they're just "coming soon". I have no way to tell.
Yes, I agree. I have to find the frost hammer set and 3 mercenaries. The frost hammer I know it is on map 2 or 3, but how? A friend of mine found it, but he didn't find the flame swords (which I did on the same map and I have no clue how. I guess it was because of a mercenary).
Btw, that map 2 sucks, worst game design. You have to walk FOREVER to stop the 3 cities raid, which are lvl locked on lvl 2/3, then it is end gam with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gear.
I barely beat chapter 3, I have most weapon groups unlocked except the last one which i assume is guns.
I got the fire swords after defeating the goblin arena, pretty sure you have to defeat those optional bosses, or unlock certain classes to get them.
For loadout there is so many criterias im not going to list them all.
Their normally related to what you do in game, like how many times you used item X, collected X amout of gold or dealth X amount of damage/critical hits.
some Weapons unlocks are also tied to what characters you finish the story with, like finish a chapter with a hunter for a Bow unlock.
Thats besides of main quests and side objectives for both categories.
For cosmetics there are a huge bunch of diffrent unlock criterias, some can only be unlocked on Master difficulity.
If it is the two last locked weapon types they are unlocked in chapter 2.
One of them by doing the purge spiders quest from one of the 3 besieged towns, starting that quest spawns a special dungeon which you need to beat.
The other is unlocked by beating the arena in the swamp which should appear after you saved the 3 besieged towns.
yes, I discovered it now, I didn't remember that was a thing on FTK1. There should be some hint on things... devoting 10 times each shrine is A LOT
some people were telling me to search for the "????" quest. What happens is that there is no ??? quest. The right quest (which made me waste 15h on map 2) was a pipe quest reward from SW town, asking to clear the spider cave.
The flame weapon is clearing the arena on marsh part of the map (a lvl 6 arena)
You shouldn't have to list them all, the game should be listing them. Or at least heavily hinting at what they should be. Instead of offering up "???" and letting you know that something nebulous maybe possibly exists.
At this point it's pretty much just a holding pattern until a wiki picks up the slack :/
Kind of suprised if it's not on the wiki yet, you can "mine" it with notepad.
You don't really need to be a game dev to understand the entries in lorestore.json
