I think we finished a 4 player first campaign on round 62. With 3 of us level 8 and one of us at 9.
it really is just all based on luck at some point. you can only enhance so many stats, and the game requires any character to have to use 1 outside their focus (pun intended) at any given time (an ambush, sneak, etc).
1st town quests could have a purple weapon that steamrolls for you the first few levels, or it could be a glass breakable - slowing down the ability to snowball.
Unless thats something that was hotfixed in later. We definately had a person at 9.
L9 = 4,500 XP is the cap.
307 kills -- including 33 Queensguard for Start the Revolution challenge of 25+
17,914 damage
9,777 gold
177 Focus
I could have rushed 8 rounds sooner and gotten the 50 rounds challenge credit, too.
OTOH, one of the last few palisade fights I won gave me this lovely toy:
Queen's Kite Shield, 8 Armor 5 Resist, +30% XP, Guard, Taunt, Protect Neighbors (T-Splash!)
Stablehand spammed Protect Neighbors, and the other 3 delivered the damage.
It still fails when 2 consecutive enemies focus fire on 1 guy who isn't Guarded.
Brigand King one-shotted my Scholar twice, costing -1 Sanctum and -1 life.
Onward to Chapter II, with a Pathfinder and a Farmer
