But noone knows that :P You might want to put in the description, that sometimes it might attract something else, if you want to keep it mysterious...
I've written off the shepard totally because the sheep just seems useless...
The scarecrows at least have defend and only take one damage when hit.
I get the aestetics of it, I really do - and it is fun - but at least make the sheep somewhat useful.
Maybe if it buffed with cuteness or something... or confused an enemy each round... or did something :D
It would actually be cooler, come to think of it, if a sheep died it could respawn as a Big Bad Wolf... Then the flavour text could be something like: Sometimes summons a sheep... but you never know who is wearing the clothes... or something :P
As it is, I feel like there's really no point in running a Shepherd when you can run a Hunter or Pathfinder or something. I'd love to see a rework or buff for the Shepherd of some sort. Maybe increased Wolf chance, or actually have them attack.
% of the game is only sheep, the wolf is a real companion. In my humble opinion, I would rename the Shepherd to a Druid and give him a chance to summon basic creatures such as sheep, wolves, birds, spiders, or Fairies . This way, the class would be interesting and the game tactics would have to be adapted to the current familiar.
I played 4 shepherds and in 55 turns 1 wolf appeared.
The scarecrow does spawn infrequently but can potentially be spawned multiple times in a single battle. At its very base offers guard protection for the square behind it and I don't think it can be outright oneshot, but I could be wrong. I recall it usually taking multiple hits to take down even with it's automatic 1hp damage per round.
My three suggestions for the shepherd that I think might make it feel better as a class are
-When a sheep is killed the shepherd gets a free automatic retaliation against the target if there is no direct target (like a status effect) the shepherd gets an additional action on their next turn.
-different varieties of sheep that give different effect when they are on the field
Like giving a slightly watered down version of tactics to every square around it,
-making summon sheep an skill that can be used actively as well as the occasional random passive
