Pathfinder scout ability - Useless or am I missing something

Scout procs but it gives no effect that I can find. Which sucks because I was psyched to use the pathfinder thinking the scout ability would give advantage in dungeons to see enemies in the next room. So, am I missing something obvious or is it broken?

overworld it works but dungeon scoutin seems a bit useless unless dungeons have multiple paths in later chapters

Nah it's just useless in dungeons as it is, and on the overworld it's rendered useless by using a Cracked Spyglass and Torch at the same time so, basically cosmetic ability added for the sake of having more abilities.

Survey is what works in the overworld and is pretty nice, but I agree most of the time scout procs in a dungeon and nothing happens because whatever it was going to reveal has already been revealed or its just buggy.

Pathfinder really is the dud class pick.
