Party from chapter to chapter
Is there no way to bring your party from Chapter 1 into chapter 2? I have to make a new party each chapter???

Yes. It's a roguelite. You will always start a run fresh

Thanks for all the answers. I thought I might be missing something in the UI.

Kind of a disappointment. Coming from FTK1, like Xerberus said, you could go into the maps and grind it out up to about lvl 12 if i'm not mistaken. My wife and I got through the first chapter "campaign" in pretty short time at level 7. It would not be such a issue but when starting chapter 2 they directly reference the actions of YOUR party. It just leads to some disconnect within the story.

Sure FTK1 has one "campaign". However, each map has a very distinct task for you to do with a "story" that is as fleshed out as the one campaign "for the king". FTK2 is trying to string a story along, but it falls on its face simply because each chapter welcomes new hero's while directly referencing your accomplishments.

A serious bummer. FTK1 is standing out to be the better game. I'm still enjoying FTK2, its a good time. This whole story "progression" is such a let down. My hope is that later chapters offer more in the way of content, instead of feeling incredibly rushed to get through the chapter because of the game ending conditions.

Happy adventures to all

I just started chapter 2 and just realized the problem, so I came to the threads to take a look and here it is... my suspicions were confirmed. A real shame because the game itself deserves a lot.

The biggest problem is that it's a game based on loot and related abilities and just when the builds were starting to get interesting the game forces me to start all over again?
Sad choice, really sad.

IMHO builds are finalised at level 7 and there is nothing else to look forward to. So idk why do you think it should start getting interesting.

And do you find interesting a game where the builds are finalized at level 7, after 5-6 hours of play?

Normaly I like progression as stretched as possible, but you should also understand that games are different. Progression is basic to begin with, there is little difference between levels and none of mechanical ones. You don't pick your stats and gear is not gated by level. So with that being said, I find core game insteresting enough and realise that progression is too basic to consider it, be it long or short.

I understand why they went that direction, it streamlines balancing instead of having to continually slather on larger and larger numbers. Does it really matter if your new lvl 1 struggles out of the gate on the 3rd adventure the same way a lvl 20 starting off a new lvl 20-30 adventure would?

Still it might make it feel more cohesive if we had "character sheets" or just some sort level of saved preset. Just to shift the perception a bit from "I'm starting a totally new character every time" to "I'm going to play MY blacksmith". Even if that blacksmith is a lvl1 blacksmith starting essentially from scratch every time.

I feel the same way, but then we also have to remember FTK1 where you end up winning all that gold at the end and you can’t spend it 😂
We finally got our characters to lvl 7 and a decent fighting team and had to start it all over again. Definitely a bummer. We spent the first half of chapter 2 doing the “remember when we had X weapon” 🫠

At least now you can save the cosmetics and names of your characters. That saves some time when creating new parties.

The idea is to switch character classes with each chapter. You are not stuck with a blacksmith for 30 hours. After yelling at your teammate for mishandling the minstrel, you show him/her how it is done next chapter.
Yeah it's my biggest disappointment in the sequel.

It wasn't any different in the first game. New campaign, new characters.
