Did anyone else get account restricted for upvoting the most upvoted review from this game?

WTF steam?

Your account has recently upvoted a user review that was banned for attempting to scam users or other violations of Steam's Rules & Guidelines.

I'm happy to unban the review, but think it makes more sense to have that complex and detailed troubleshooting within a Steam guide, along with at least some disclosure about how the steps are 'at your own risk'. The guide could then be linked to directly from the review.

We will also be following up with the developer about the behavior described in the review.

I am going to ask that the review be restored, and then I will add a note about how I believe the issue is most likely fixed as of 4/14/2023 when I retested and tried to reproduce it in a VM. I did not experience the issue like I personally did on Jan 24th.

Also will remove the registry part, it is only there to completely remove every tiny thing related to the anti-cheat. That registry part is what all uninstalled applications leave behind. So its just extra information. The established connections to a japan IP after the game is uninstalled is the important part, and i believe that although the bug is fixed there should be a record of it. Especially due to the shady behavior surrounding it.

Same story here but I do remember upvoting a comment about anti-cheat not getting fully uninstalled with the game and you had to delete it manualy from your pc but from what I know the devs changed it since then so maybe thats why this comment got taken down ? Still feels bad to get banned for something like that.

The email will also have details about when the vote ban will expire. Steam Support does not adjust the length of vote bans.

Steam doesn't care. Vote with your wallets and don't spend a dime on this now trash platform that use to be somewhat decent. They have gotten progressively worse over the years, if you know you know what I mean.

Using this I can see I did indeed upvote a review for Warlander in January 2023. So 8 weeks later I am penalised for participating in the Steam reviews system?

I did this to have the message about creating a ticket with Steam support visible early for everyone coming in here. Unfortunately this is the best way to pin a message within a post.

Me too. I have no interest in the game and have never even read a review of it, but according to Steam I upvoted a banned review of it.

in any case they can't mute users for an "UPVOTE".. 30 days... this is how all "democratic" countries need laws agaist this form of virtual "dictatorship"

Yep - I've had this too, considering I have every level of Steam security installed and on, I'm surprised this has happened.

Anyone have a solution to this - or should I just 'take it'.

Same here. Clicked on the link of the so called banned review and it had 866 up votes and somewhere around 200 awards.

I've had my Steam account for almost 20 years, and this is the first time my account has been "flagged" for anything like this.

Someone has made an error or is being overzealous.
