stuck on chapter 4 puzzle

hello, i love the game so far, thank you so much for making it! T_T

i'm embarrassed to say that i've been stuck on the chapter 4 puzzle for a few days where you speak to the occupant and need to say the right key phrases. i am able to get past the first phrase by saying "we have enough trouble at home..." but after that i don't have any other options for phrases. i've tried to speak to the floating apparitions around the cavern with the two stars but can only speak to 1 of 3 for some reason. (i spoke to them all before i talked to the occupant) is this a glitch, or am i missing something? would appreciate any help!!

Have you used all your abilities?

It's not as obvious here as usual, but you can time jump. The other times have the other responses.
