What is Among the Trolls?

Among the Trolls is a first-person survival-adventure game where the secret mysteries of Finnish forests are unraveled. Venture deep into the Finnish wilderness to uncover family truths and master the art of survival.


Who is developing Among the Trolls?

After the closure of Forbidden Studio, 505 Games decided to continue supporting the project by entrusting it to the passionate developers at AvantGarden Games, who are working hard to bring this unique experience to life with their own vision.


Who is Among the Troll’s publisher?

Among The Trolls is published by 505 Pulse, the indie division of 505 Games.


Which engine is Among the Trolls developed on?

Among The Trolls is developed using Unreal Engine.


Where can I play?

Among the Trolls will be available for Early Access on Steam.


What Is Early Access?

Early Access allows you, the player, to get access to Among the Trolls during the pre-release, development phase of the game. During Early Access we’re able to collect valuable feedback from the community and create the best possible game before the full release.

The Early Access version of Among the Trolls will launch with its first chapter, while the 1.0 release will advance and conclude the storyline. Future updates will expand the map, introduce new skills, features and storylines and build on the strong foundation established during EA.


When will Early Access start / end?

The exact date is something we have to keep under wraps, but keep an eye out for our socials and the Steam forums, where we’ll be sure to update you. The 1.0 version will deliver a complete and enriched experience, so we plan to remain in Early Access until we are confident we have a strong 1.0 candidate. Our initial estimate is to reach that stage by mid-2026.

The game will be available on the Steam Store


Is there Co-Op?

Our goal is to release the co-op feature with version 1.0, but we are considering the idea of implementing it in an experimental form during the Early Access period to gather your feedback. At this stage, we cannot promise that this will be possible, but we will keep you updated on this decision.


What are the minimum / recommended specs required in order to run Among The Trolls on PC?

These are the spec requirements we’re hoping to achieve:

Is Among the Trolls compatible with Mac or Linux?

Right now, we’re focusing our efforts in delivering the game on Windows.


Is the Among the Trolls 1st or 3rd person view?

Among the Trolls is played in 1st person.


Can I make male and female characters?

On Early Access release you will be able to play as Anna. Further options will be considered during the Early Access developement.


What languages are supported?

During Early Access, the game will be available in English only, - additional languages will be considered for the 1.0 release


Does Among the Trolls have keyboard and mouse support?

Yes, Among the Trolls is developed to be used with a mouse and keyboard.


Does Among the Trolls have controller support?

We are considering including controller support, but we will determine the times and extent during the Early Access phase.
