About that "exit via a lone mindshroom in the underground" that the big Frost mushroom talks about

Was that just flavour text? I found the one (or at least I think) and gave him the "eye" and he said he'd expand my mind and a bunch of stuff just popped up on the map, but nothing about an exit (and I couldn't get all those items for accessibility reasons), if that wasn't it I did go and get all the mindshrooms in the underground see if anything popped up but nothing did. Except one in a big empty room that I couldn't see anything to help me traverse.

There is a second one in the western most part of the underground near the berserk spell.

I found the room, I think (though if it is you got east and west mixed up), I had actually found it before. But it's just an otherwise empty room full of thorns. I can't cross it. Do I need something? If so what and where? Nothing I picked up during the adventuring, and some poking around, seems to be adequate for the job.

Yeah I often mix east and west... For that room, I simply used multiple bouncing spore jump to pass over the first thorn hill. Once on the other side I simply dashed to reach the platform.
