About the "Only Greencaps" achievement

Does this require to somehow beat the game without picking up any spells?

When there's a hidden achievement you can sometimes check sites that list steam achievement to find out what it is.

Forget the past, reincarnate only the Greencap culture of mushrooms. (Selfish Ending)

I believe that means going up the vertical tunnel in the Corrupted Tunnels area.

I did that, but with all the powers, and got the normal ending. I guess I'm probably locked out of the "bad" ending?

What movement skills and spells did you use to get up there?

Bouncy Spore (hug the wall of thorns and the explosion should propel you upward). Then make the climb using Crouch Jump, pogo off the Bouncy Ball, and Ground Bounce the non-thorny wall bits.

YOu need Double shot relic for the pogo to work.
Crouch Jump, Double Jump, first bouncy Ball, Jump, another Bouncy ball and jump

EDIT: Wow, the jumping part on the surface part, I have no idea how to reach it

How do you get past the part that requires you to spin to use the diagonal mushmover? Do you just ricochet off the wall? I always seem to fly off into the thorns in that part.

I think the key here is to have more upward momentum while bouncing off the wall, for me it helped to start spinning after jumping from below to the diagonal mushmover, this way your initial upward movement adds to the spin vertical momentum.

You can also try to cheese that particular section by using the bouncy spore spell and bouncing off it multiple times in succession.

You should be really comfortable with bouncy spore to use it like that, "on the fly" :)
In that first part of the ascend in Corrupted Tunnels where you can take time, prepare, and try as much as you want, for me it takes 3-4 attempts before I manage to get to the Surface.

Now I've realized what some people farther up in the thread were talking about. I finished the game by going up from the corrupted tunnels but I had all the spells already so I guess I'm locked out of the "only greencaps" achievement. Huge bummer.

If your goal is getting all achievements, you'll have another chance to get this one while beating the game on Hardcore and Nightmare ;)

I used the downwards wall bounce, bouncy spore, upwards dash, forward dash, any spell to interrupt spin and spin. Did not need any special relic. I did do it a bit unintended with the spin part at the end, just wall bounced and used bouncy spore to bypass the spinning since I wasn't getting enough distance with the 1st spin to get to the "spin stopper" object, so I used a spell to stop the spin and dashed to the wall and just improvised from there. So this is a pretty minimal set of items needed to end the game, there might be ways of doing it with even less but I dunno, this was already very few abilities to get to the top
