Cannot place cannons

Hello! I've been enjoying this game a lot and have built a few odd tanks, but in my most recent build (post sand dunes update), I have been unable to place cannons on my tanks. I've tried verifying game files, tried both the dunes and the flat sandbox, and tried a different tank design to no avail. The game makes the sound of me selecting a button, and the undo button becomes available, but there is no cannon anywhere. Sometimes, clicking the cannon button multiple times and then clicking undo will update my tanks weight, as if a bunch of cannons had been placed, but none are visible and none of them can be interacted with.

The mirror mode breaks placing cannons at the moment. Toggling it off works for me, if it is already off turn it on and off again.
