Sprocket

Modding is fun and i like it
So i have a habit of finding my way into the game files and screwing around with some settings to see what i can do and see how stupid it can get.

Recently, it came to my attention in Sprocket that you are able to do a few things because hamish is such a lovely dev they left a lot of things in .json files (i love u). So you are able to modify things like torque for your drive motors, cannon operating pressure, armour coefficient etc.

but doing this modifies those files directly, which is used for the game itself, so lets say... idk. You make the WW1 Era cannons operate at modern MBT levels of pressure, that would modify ALL guns, which is a lot of fun ngl. But i also want to create my own Era/s so i can have multiple different modifications.

So far i havent been able to create a custom Era, either because i modified the game too much or it just doesnt work to begin with.

If anyone knows how to do this, i will offer head in return (jk unless serious) or, if u do read this hamish, could you shed some enlightenment? I do have a few questions in regards to modding.

I was also planning on making a modding guide once i figure out how to do enough :D

Good news! audio files relating to the game can be found in "sharedassets15.assets"
This data structure can be found in "Steam\steamapps\common\Sprocket\Sprocket_Data"
So far i havent found a way to edit them yet for two reasons.
    1 - I'm not proficient with UABE & 2 - its 2am and im tired

On a side note, the super cromwell BpMeta file is 123 bytes

I can spend some time on sunday figuring out how to edit the sounds
(Edit) i say sunday, but its 2am rn so what i mean is "Today"

okay so after some serious digging... like... SERIOUS digging i could not find a way to modify audio files ):

Yes they are referenced withing "sharedassets15.assets" and are probably located in "sharedassets15.assets.resS" but those are data structures of unity, despite digging through with UABE and HxD i was unable to yield anything, even the all mighty Audacity was unable to deal with it >:

If you really want to change audio files then you will need to contact Hamish and ask for an update that allows easy access to said files.
So far modding anything outside of the .json files requires a couple of tools that most people wouldn't know existed.

On a side note, the TOG II blueprint file is 32 KB
Appreciated for the information, sir!

found someone that figured it out perfectly:

https://www.reddit.com/r/SprocketTankDesign/comments/1hv6eqv/100_a_type_10_hydropneumatic_suspension_apfsds/

but they're pretty vague about sharing it so you could try asking them directly for more info

The Sprocket Ship Design trailer used modded sounds, so it is possible. Not sure exactly how.

Unity rippers can unpack and modify these .asset files.

Wasn't the Sprocket Ship Design trailer an April Fools instance?
