Sprocket

Proton Tank Data Location
A friend and I want to pass the files for tanks back an forth, but I am having trouble finding where they are stored on my machine since I am running the game through proton. Anyone know where I'd find them, thanks!

You'll find the game's wine prefix under SteamLibrary/steamapps/compdata/[game's id]/pfx, in it you'll find the windows like file structure that the game uses, from there just follow the windows path for save file location. For sprocket starting from your SteamLibrary folder (the one the game is installed in if you have multiple) the exact path should be
steamapps/compatdata/1674170/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Sprocket/Factions/

go to documents > games > sprocket > factions > select what faction the tank is in > blueprints > vehicles > then copy the tanks you want to transfer

This doesn't work. I am not on windows and sprocket doesn't save my data to my documents folder

I hate to say it but I've never heard of Proton before and I've been around the net for a good while. You might get better results if you go to a proton specific community and try to find other folk there who play Sprocket.

Proton is a tool included with steam that allows for Windows games to run on Linux, and I figured the best place to ask about a game would be that game's forum

Well! consider me educated, Its actually pretty cool that valve makes stuff like that. I wish I could help but I dont even know where to begin.

Not sure if this helps but I did just do a search, apparently Linux's equivalent to "my documents" or "documents" as it is on windows is "Home/Yourname" is it possible Proton is routing the files there? Try looking for files like "Hamish Dunn" or "Sprocket" sometimes game files are organised by their developer before the title.
