a more successful trick is to create a long tank with stiff suspensions. the b4 bratten can serve as reference in terms of minimal scale.
in any case, crossing the battlefield is indeed tedious due to WWI speed being a snail's. if that kills the mood for you, use cheats and unlock a more modern era.
light bridge crossing tanks are a bit finicky since they can still break the bridges by accident.
i wouldn't advice using stiff suspension since the physics of the game make stiff tanks get stuck when wheels lose contact from the ground.
considering shallow dishes lock long tanks in place anyway, i would say the trade-off has some value.
How do I make the suspension stiffer? My tank sometimes just drops down too fast.
the terrain is awful slippery and not mud but rather hard like stone. I wish we had a terrain like in Warthunder with deforming ability !! My 30ton 1:1 A7V cant get through but it has less hp than in real because the WW1 does not offer 200hp here ...in real it has 2 x 4cyl inlines with 17000ccm. So i made a 25 ton version and it can cross but with luck and speed and knowledge where to go.
You can adjust the damper and such by going into the suspension sub-menu of the tracks, which is under mobility.
