Tutorial?
This game literally explains nothing to you at all. For example, I cannot figure out how to make a turret that can actually elevate the gun.

Hi!
A tutorial is planned for a little further down the road, there is a warning for the limited guidance in the early access description on the store page.

The decal source allows you to quickly switch the displayed decal without having to detach and reattach the one you want, it could be clearer for sure.

adjust gun base, barrel length and shell length until the elevation speed is a positive value.
if you are anything but No Tank's land (which I suggest new players to not try) you also need to maximize the motor torque in the (I think) turret page.

My point is that the game does not explain how anything works.

In early era, it is difficult to have good gun mobility.
Just don't build too big and make a small turret with just a man in the loader / gunner role and leave the commander in the hull. A small turret is lighter and it turns better. For the barrel, do not exceed 50mm if you want to be able to elevate it, but prefer the length for more penetration.

If you want elevation it's on the gun mounting page (same for azimuth), and both take up space in the tank

On topic, no there isn't a tutorial yet, IIRC that's mentioned on the steam early access page

Not asking for it to be easy etc, just for it to explain how the game works. I mean, I had to look up a YT video just to work out how to place a decal on my tank, because the game itself has no information on how to do it.

My tank that I had this problem with was a midwar tank.

It's literally written on the tab for placing decals.

Still easy to miss. Besides, in every other game, you click on the decal itself, then you're able to place it. In this, you have to click "Place Decal", place it, only then can you choose which decal you want. Why change the process from one that people will already be familiar with?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
