if you are anything but No Tank's land (which I suggest new players to not try) you also need to maximize the motor torque in the (I think) turret page.
Just don't build too big and make a small turret with just a man in the loader / gunner role and leave the commander in the hull. A small turret is lighter and it turns better. For the barrel, do not exceed 50mm if you want to be able to elevate it, but prefer the length for more penetration.
If you want elevation it's on the gun mounting page (same for azimuth), and both take up space in the tank
On topic, no there isn't a tutorial yet, IIRC that's mentioned on the steam early access page
It's literally written on the tab for placing decals.
A tutorial is planned for a little further down the road, there is a warning for the limited guidance in the early access description on the store page.
The decal source allows you to quickly switch the displayed decal without having to detach and reattach the one you want, it could be clearer for sure.
