Okay good stuff. I just wanted to make sure he gave the proper credits after ALL the hard work this dev has done on this game the last four years.
1. The game doesn't use this generator (which is made by a friend btw). It's in JavaScript and generates static spritesheets. My game is in C++, you can change your equipment and everything is procedurally generated.
2. The game credits properly all the artists who participated in graphics, sounds or musics assets. There is a credits screen in the game, a CREDITS.txt file that comes with the game, and a credits page on the official website of the game.
3. I am a member of the LPC community, I know the artists, I made some of the graphics assets myself, and commissioned others. And plan to use the money I get from this game to commission more that all gamedevs can freely enjoy.
Let me know if you have any question!
That’s one of the first things i noticed, looking at the credits ingame and on the website : a very long list of names or links or thanks. It’s quite rare to see that much precision easily accessible, often it’s just a link or some legal texts nobody read. Well done, i’d say !
This is a fantastic response... love it. That makes sense now why I didn't see what I thought the credits needed to be for this character generator I thought that it used.
I love how you have made all the armor and weapons and everything fit the character models so well as well. You've done a really fantastic job with everything!
I also love how you state you plan to commission more open game art with income from the game and allow all game developers to use and enjoy it.
