just came here to say, i like your profile image, its a intense blue destiny?....it looks like the blue destiny, though onto the question, since i've only played GB4 and watched GB3...tbh i think GB3 wins in the maps hands down but in some areas like suits GB4 wins...

granted GB3 had funnels be OP instead of EX which would of been fun to use but again, never played it

GB3 let you have a bit more freedom via maps, mastered moves and bursts took a bit longer as you had to grind them out like a skill [use X amount of times/ missions and it'll be unlocked w/o using the corresponding part to perform it/ grid-form into the part. Abusing certain mechanics was far less tedious than 4 has it; breaking in general was far easier than it is [GIVE ME BACK GS BREAKING, Please] , and certain parts had unique features [EX; Strike-IWSP shield/ Gatling equipped the other as a Weapon/Shield]. Twin Rifles, Dual-Sabers are a pair of weapons I miss as some had unique animations tied to them [Yes you can dual-wield, but it doesn't feel the same. I'd like Rolling Buster to be a press n hold, rather than an ex move associated with the Twin-Buster Rifles take up a valuable spot in my loadout]. Music... I miss the licensed music from ALL THE GUNDAM ANIME SERIES, I know its hell due to Japans copyright system. Overall, it just flowed right, more than farming in GB1 & GB2. SCRATCH BUILDING not only MS, but weapons and shields are something I've missed, an example of that would be this [it is NOT accurate, but its the 1st thing that popped into my head] ; Gundam Beam Saber -> GPO1 Beam Saber required another specific weapon and currency, it carried over what weapon 1 had into weapon 2.

GB4 has alot more MS in it and the parts customizing is what I wished 3 had. Fact I can make a small MA or fighter plane had me chuckling. I've attempted to faithfully reproduce the Core Gundam and all 7 of its planet system armors. The partner ai is alot better than SGB, but worse than GB3. More in-depth customizing when it comes to coloring options, weathering, panel-lining, and patterns. I believe story difficulty progression was alot easier this time around than 3, though I may be forgetting things but this was my experience with it.

4 is weaker.

Builder parts:
*Part system is still weaker than 3
*Parts like thrusters or propellant tanks do not confer bonuses like 3 did
*mirrored parts do not rotate properly on their axis. I heard this has been fixed, but unconfirmed.
*Parts will revert to "origin point" on a part when fired. This can ruin builds and was not present in 3 (parts rotated and moved would retain their orientation and position upon being fired

Weapons:
*Gouf Custom Gatling shield relegated to just a shield with the gatling being an optional part instead of an actual weapon (in 3 it was a weapon with the shield being usable as a shield)

Parts:
*Parts with toggle-able sections seem to be haphazard. certain suit variants do not have the same toggle options as their "mainline" counterpart

EX/OP system

*terrible compared to 3
*EX skills still tied to parts and not weapon types like 3 leads to builds being ruined by ugly wireframes
*Optional parts are worse than 3. in 3 parts used a gauge. in this you use it and then are forced to wait on a cooldown. if a part is capable of multiple uses, it must be used all at once or once and then wait for recharge. like the beam spot gun on the Gelgoog Jaeger's arms. In 3 it would be a gauge that would only deplete on use, recharging if spent or if not being used. in 4 you use it once and it puts the OP on cooldown. forcing you to wait for recharge

Missions:
*4 is just arenas you get TP'ed to. In 3 you were effectively "dungeon crawling". though later maps did get long and tedious
*No vehicles. 2 introduced them, 3 added more, but the lack of vehicles in 4 is sad.
3 is still the pinnacle. Don't let people tell you otherwise.

3 is the better game but 4has the Quality of life features we wanted in 3.
4 is a weaker game ,but not by much

Well, since I have played all the GBs before and spent a good number of hours, especially GB2 and GB3, I can say that GB3 is the best of all, in variety and forms of options. The OP parts are better implemented, each one has its own meter, the irradiation attacks, which could appear on any laser weapon or shield, Shield abilities and so much more, also have different combinations of attack variations in the same weapon, charged attacks, irradiation, 3 shots in a burst, grenade launcher, too the weapons that could serve as a melee weapon and as a long-range weapon, I miss all of that, you had so many options to equip and use, and you also had the feeling that they lasted their use, they were not skills on cooldown. And yes the GB4 has more parts, I love that you can equip different arms on the left and right side, and the amount of MB is greater, although the Delta Plus is not there, nor the ReZel and I expected there to be transformations, as long as the MB was the complete kit.

GB 3 is still at the top, maybe some updates will improve the experience, which so far is good, quite good.

thanks for anwsering!
The only thing 4 has over three is the newer mobile suits. Everything else, 3 clears. Especially storywise, and 3's DLC didnt feel like it was cut from the game like 4's DLC.

GB3 has better enemy stats, meaning you can actually die on higher difficulties endgame vs. GB4 where you will pretty much always be at full hp.
Melee loot pool is more interesting because of moveset variants in 3 vs. GB4's ranged weapon mode variance.
GB3 has more wacky EX moves vs. GB4 having more grounded EX moves, one is not superior over the other imo.
GB4 offers much better customization such as being able to modify built in parts vs. GB3 where you essentially nerf yourself for having two in ones.

i must disagree GB3 has way better ex attacks like all the melee ones that are absent dead end impact wheel strike ♥♥♥♥ like that

Some were a bit gratuitous like Phantom Edge, ie Vergil's Mirage Blades and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of EXs that stunned on hit. Leaving Rose Bit/Rose Hurricane was probably the tradeoff as it's still the I Win button even in GB4.
I say one isn't superior over the other as the EXs from both games serve the same purposes but GB4's are more tame and can appeal to some people over the more wacky G Gundam style moves from 3. Like people that don't understand we're playing as assembled toys, not an actual mobile suit lol.
