How do you beat Survival Wave 40 (Neo Zeong)?
That one boss always does its Psychoframe Ultra AoE attack that encompasses quite literally the entire arena and it completely one shots my max level build. The boss has done it for like three attempts in a row and it's especially frustrating BECAUSE it's all the way in Wave 40, which is like 20-ish minutes into a Survival run. It feels as though I've hit a brick wall every time after breezing through the last 39 waves.

How do you tackle the Neo Zeong wave in Survival? Do you just try and brute force it by hitting the HP cap? Do you use the Avoid Instant Death ability cartridge? Or is it just down to RNG on whether the boss wants to do that particular attack?

Also, small rant, Neo Zeong is honestly the least fun boss fight in the game, even discounting that AoE attack. The fact that it's always airborne and keeps flying around (and away from you) means that you have to keep chasing it. It doesn't even actually go down when you hit all the weak spots. It can also fly above the altitude limit of the arena, just because.

I was able to survive it with ~500k HP, just try to keep distance if he starts charging and keep you block up.

I beat survival with a lv38 max rarity Barbatos lupus rex head, body, arms, legs, back, left & right machine guns, with lv50 heat axe right, whip left lv50. All gear with recover hp on attack, recover hp per second. Got lucky with a 150% hp ability cartridge slot itme. Builders was both double gatlings, i-field generator, solar reactor for any suit trans-am, gn field generator, uchigatana left and right for the EX skill. recovering over 5% hp per second with the machine guns leeching life my hp bar fills almost instantly if i survive. 450k hp right now. no newtype difficulty completed.

If you would like some help I can run it with you. Send me a friend request in game(7014642706) and il attempt to help you through it.

Only 300k hp+GN shield and chobam passive is enough(get I field to if you not sure your will survive)to survive 1 shot and have a hair of hp (around 40k)left then use recover hp on attack hit + machinegun or gatling to re your hp to max.
You can play safe with twin nuke bazooka and just run around while shooting it.
I pass 50 floor on second try (first try I just too sleepy to go on so I stop at just wave 8)with duo graze short barrel gun(the machine gun one)and use large mace(baby lupus rex mace) cheese as a main damage to carry me all the ways to the end.

If I not wrong I just level 40 at that time.
Wile my weapon is all 50.
My build use Ririn carnation full set (for someone who want to know how to get her you need to combine Mey doll and...is it Providence or Legend? I forgot lol(she not good but she cute thou(can't change her color thou))) with weapon above and GN X shield for skill GN shield)with one gn drive builders part (for trans-am) that's it.(other 7 is just pure cosmetic)

Thanks everyone, I just beat Wave 50.

Oh the irony of having just having the basic PG RX-78 as the final Survival boss, especially after two Neo Zeongs in a row. I was half-expecting it to be the Dark Gundam or something, considering the arena.

I kinda just decided to face-tank everything and made my build to have stacks upon stacks of damage resist abilities, OPs, and EX skills. Plus, I'm also using a 250% HP Increase Ability Cartridge for a ~850k HP total (maybe also look for Avoid Instant Death for a nice little bonus).

Here's my tank build, hopefully it'll help anyone that stumbles upon this thread in the future.

1. Max Level GN Shield from GN-X III - gives GN Field (reduces Beam and Physical Damage + max level Shield will give 15-18% passive damage resist, though I don't know if this passive only applies when guarding)

2. Reflector Mode - inherit EX Skill from Perfect G-Self's backpack (reduces Beam and Physical Damage, only costs 1 EX Point to activate, seemingly stacks with GN Field)

3. I-Field - inherit OP passive skill from the Unicorns, in this case, I use Phenex's backpack (reduces Beam Damage, no cooldown, and activates automatically)

4. Chobam Armor - inherit OP passive skill from Chobam NT-1 Alex (reduces Physical Damage, no cooldown, and activates automatically)

5. Mirage Colloid - inherit EX Skill from Blitz Gundam arm (reduces agro/hate by 100%, non PG Boss enemies will completely ignore you. They just stand there and take the damage - this is OPTIONAL, but still incredibly helpful nonetheless).

What I did before every PG boss fight was pop both the Reflector Mode and GN Field, and face tank every hit. Neo Zeong still hits pretty hard (it did a beam funnel attack that juggled me in the air followed by the Psycoframe AoE attack immediately after), but with superior damage mitigation, high enough HP, as well as HP Recovery on hit with a fast hitting weapon (I use double Gatlings), you'll recover your lost HP in seconds.
