GUNDAM BREAKER 4

GUNDAM BREAKER 4

Can't level mastery of OP and EX skills anymore
This is extremely disappointing and was the reason why spending a lot of time using specific parts led (me) to identifying parts for my final custom build. Now all we have to do is max the rarity to gain the mastery? I'm sorry Crafts & Meister, but that's not the definition of "mastery".

GB3 did everything better. Very disappointed in GB4 so far.

While I agree that it does take away from encouraging you to experiment and learn the skills, it also allows you to try out other OPs and EXs without having to tear your build apart to do so. It's another way they're trying to put an emphasis on allowing you to play as much of the game as possible with OreGunpla as opposed to having to chimera in things constantly (aka one of the biggest failings of New)

Chimeras were the best part of the mid-game though XD Sure, it looked goofy as heck but who cares? Once you have Darkness Finger and Bullet Orbit mastered, you can use them on your Frankenstein monster build to master other OP and EX skills without the tedium of hardcore grinding >:)

In GB4, it's just the tedium of hardcore grinding :l It's no longer fun.
The thing is, you can STILL chimera if you like, you just don't HAVE to. It's ultimately a move in the direction of freedom of build, which is something that (excluding the black history title) the series has been moving towards throughout it's history; it's especially apparent going from Breaker 2 to 3 for instance.

You speak the big tru tru. Regardless, the way that Crafts & Meister streamlined this process makes my heart break a little. It's just not innovative. It's not even convenient lmao because the amount of Parts Evolve we need to max out multiple parts' rarities is insanely high, which was never an issue in GB3 because it was simply time spent with parts equipped.

Sadge.
It's not as bad as it seems on the resource front, you'll be drowning in plastics by the time you're running through Extreme difficulty, to say nothing of Newtype. Survival mode will also shower you in the stuff. While I agree it's hardly original, even ideas that are really cool on paper can often end up just turning into boring chores, like cutting runners in Breaker 1.

Unfortunately I never got to experience GB1 (and I only got to watch gameplay of GB2), but I did some quick research and runners seem to be blueprints of sorts that drop from MS if you get lucky and break all of their parts. No information on "cutting" them though :l

But you are right; once I start farming in Newtype, I'll be drowning in Darkness Fingers >:)

I'd say one of the more annoying aspects of this new system is that even if you DO master a skill, whatever body part they were attached to suddenly transforms into a silhouette of that body part and destroys any and all customization you had when that was never a problem in GB3.

Admittedly it's been a while since I played 1, but if memory serves you basically get the runners, and by using them you get parts, which is meant to simulate how in real life when you buy a Gunpla package the parts are all on runners and you have to use nippers to cut them out so you can actually build the Gunpla. Now, naturally, if you've never done something like this before, you're going to be bad at it, and leave nubs or cut into the part too much or the like, and like any skill practice makes perfect, so they tried to simulate that by giving you experience the more you made parts from runners that increased your odds of getting good parts. It was a cool idea on paper, but in practice it was terrible and just fed harder into the gacha aspect.

Im not disagreeing they could have easily come up with a better system. I'm just glad it's not as stupid as the mobile game was.

That actually sounds sick! Bro, if they did this for GB4 omg but I can see how it could end up slowing down the gameplay loop to an awkward crawl XD

But it really is not a terrible idea; C&M could even alter the min/maxing mechanics by tying in the best affixes to the quality of the nipping. Rough edges and leftover nubs? Low-range stats for the part. Perfect nipping and smooth parts? High-range stats.

I can see it working to be honest, but to do this for every part of 250 gunpla models? Hell naw bro that's a mini-game within the video game lmao

I didn't know this O.o So it's basically an extraction type dealio? Like, you rip the EX/OP skill out of the part and make that part obsolete?

No. It's just that when you use the skill without that part equipped, you'll see a wireframe (well, not exactly frame, as it's filled-in) version of that part replace your current part while the skill is in effect.

So, if you use the Gouf's heat rod while you don't have the Gouf's right arm, your right arm will briefly transform into a Gouf arm while you're swinging around the heat rod.

I actually kind of like this, as it makes visual sense, rather than just having missiles, blades, or whips just shoot out of nothing.

The problem is if you use long-duration skills. Like, if you have the Beginning 30's legs mastered, then use its i-field when you don't have the legs equipped, the rudimentary copy of the legs replace your current legs for the ENTIRE duration of the i-field being active, which look horrible.

Hardcore grinding here is a bit of a stretch. You literally do one Newtype mission and you're good for maxing out a part's rarity for its skills. It only takes around 35 Parts Enhance 6 to go from 1 star to Gold 6. I'll take that over going to mission 1-1 and standing there spamming the skill/s I want to learn. :P

This is the real problem. It makes me not want to use anything that doesn't come from my actual gunpla which ruins the idea.

From all the people complaining about this, it is evident this is a sentiment common amongst the player base. Hopefully, this gets patched. Hopefully...

Ah yes, I getchu. I actually ran into this problem with backpacks; I want to use Trans-Am, but I didn't have a subtle BP to use at the time of my chagrin so I was staring at this ugly 00 Qan[T] wing? on my sleek and slender custom design, weeping. I made it invisible for a reason, C&M >:l
