Both are god-tier games, but in terms of raw replayability and customization, definitely Breaker 4.

Why not just get both and enjoy having two amazing mecha games?

Apples to Oranges, they're both great fruit but it depends on your personal taste which is better.

If you want more in-depth combat go for AC6, if you're more of a Gundam/Gunpla fan and are itching for far more customization options (AC6 is no slouch, but it's more focused on what the parts output in damage/function vs GB4's softer bias towards appearance) go with GB4.

Honestly Armored Core 6.
Check my profile, I have both and am now playing through Gundam Breaker 4.
GB4 is good.
AC6 is overwhelmingly excellent.
Ultimately you want both, but if you gotta choose one, it's Armored Core 6.
AC6 production values are through the roof. GB4 can barely be considered AA game.
AC6 story is exceptional, deep sci-fi non-linear tragedy. GB4 story is some anime school melodrama with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ jokes and stereotypes.
AC6 gameplay is unrivaled, there is nothing else like it, even other Armored Core games play differently, Another Century Episode games play differently, it's truly one of a kind. GB4 gameplay is inferior to DMC3/5 or DWG Reborn or even GB3 according to people, who played GB3, it's just beat-em up with custom combos and special abilities on cool downs.
AC6 music is 10/10. GB4 music is 4/10 at best, doesn't even have licensed Gundam music. In a Gundam game wtf.
Mech design in AC6 is all-star collaboration between legends. Mech design in GB4 is just re-using old assets and latest gundam entries, it has like a few of brand-new designs, that are still modified old designs, like Devil Gundam or Her-Self mobile dolls.
Level design in AC6 is some of the best you can find in stage-based games. Level design in GB4 are just cubes with rectangles.

So yeaaaah, GB4 is solid 7.5/10, AC6 is 10/10.
Buy Armored Core 6.

Depends on what you're looking for. Both have their strength and weaknesses.
but overall I'd say Armored Core is the better game (better more in depth gameplay, graphics, mission/level design and variety, story etc...), but when it comes to replayability and customization, GB4 seems to take the cake from what I've played so far.

A lot of people are mentioning replayability here. It's important to remember that a game only has replay value if you like the game to begin with. If you have to drag yourself through the story the first time, then replaying the same missions on a harder difficulty won't be fun.

If it were me, I would pick Armored Core. My suggestion is to buy one game, try it, and refund it within the 2 hour refund window if you don't like it. You can even try both games in this way, then buy the one you enjoyed more.

Right now, probably GB4. The game is new so player count and community activity is at its highest, then get AC6 on discount on Black Friday.

As a huge Gundam and Mecha fan? I'd pick AC6, I love both games, but I feel that AC6 is overall, the better product, story, difficulty and game play is better in AC6. But GB4 does offer you much more in terms of customisation, I wish AC6 had more, but GB4 just has more parts to use and customise (the ability to scale parts is god-tier). It's a pity GB4 doesn't take more from GB3 (like the level layouts, story, I also like having rideable vehicles).

Depends on if we're strickly talking about replaying the story missions or general staying power after the story is done for the first time.
In my case, once I was done with AC VIs endings, there was nothing left to do and no reason to replay or go back to it (Granted it was a very fun ride and like 80h until that point, so not saying this necessarily as a bad thing).
Meanwhile I can definitely see myself coming back to Breakers 4 more often and trying out different builds, farming for stronger parts or just playing some coop, since it has more of an arpg/looter component and way more parts than AC VI.

Edit: One thing I want to mention is that the mission design in GB 4 is basically non-existent, it's always 2 waves and a boss in small areas so it's very arcade in that regard. Some people may care more about that, some less, but I think it needs to be said as Armored Core VI actually has great mission variety for the genre.

honestly AC6 if ur wanting a better story and combat experience and itll probs be cheaper on cdkeys and stuff but if ur purely wanting to customise ur mech and make stupid things the GB4 as i think GB4 isnt really living up to GB3 dont get me wrong still fun but there are alot of nitpicks that add up.

AC6 and mod it with Armoury if you want a real good mech semi-sim

This if you're a fan of Gundam but want to be wacky

When I mentioned replaying the same missions, I wasn't talking about story missions specifically. I was mostly making a dig at the fact that every mission is the same 3 wave structure and are identical to each other; the only difference between missions is which enemies spawn, and different enemies don't exactly require different tactics to beat, so every mission can be played in the exact same way. Any variety is self-induced (eg "I'll use an axe today instead of a beam saber"). Even if you go to the optional missions, they're still pretty much the same missions you'll find in story mode.

Personally I've already made a few gunplas I'm happy with and don't want to iterate on anymore, so I've pretty much hit the same point in this game that you hit in AC6. The actual gameplay isn't drawing me back in, and there isn't any real mission variety, so I'm struggling to find reasons to boot the game up anymore.

Yeah, I get that, I feel like both games hit different spots even if they're in the same genre. I build Gunplas irl, so the parts and customization variety and diorama mode alone will keep me coming back, but the mission variety really is lacking.
Although I must say, sometimes that kinda works in its favor as it also makes replaying missions to farm parts less annoying, which plays well into the looter part of the game.

Point being, even if they're in the same genre, they're pretty different. But I'd say overall AC VI is the better game by a fair margin unless you're really into Gundams and customization (and not like AC is lacking in that department either).
