Abilities are confusing, trying to compile what all of them do
Hey internet hivemind! Been looking around to try and get information consolidated on some of the ability names, (also to eventually get enough information to write up a guide for people who are looking for what affects what, since the game doesn't do a good job of explaining the abilities' effects) and was wondering if anybody would be able to help me out a bit.

While a majority of the names make sense, there's quite a few that aren't as clear on a first read, such as Cancel or Inherent. In particular the former I initially thought affected Funnels or abilities you could deactivate mid-use until I saw the Attack Power: Funnel EX skill. Or have details that can be easily missed, such as Right/Left Close-Range abilities not affecting two-handed weapons like Greatswords.

I know Wild Dance affects skills that hit multiple times in quick succession and its Japanese name was a lot more clear about its affect, but I still have no idea what skills the Inherent abilities impacts. Or what are counted as Special OP skills since the skills pages don't really say anything about what type of skill everything is.

Any and all information about these more weirdly named skills would be heavily appreciated. I'm not gonna dig too deeply into the math (I'm gonna leave that for someone else to fixate on lol), it would be nice to have a proper ability compendium for us all to be able to refer to.

I hope so, because many of them are too vague, with positive or negative values and no indication of what they imply.

Yeah, I wouldn't have a problem with it if the game natively had a way to either look up what the ability does or even to be able to just mouse over it for a pop up, but alas.

Oh snap.... Could the "Near Death" trait just be the HP at which you are considered to be near death, so you can trigger whatever other ability would trigger when you are in that state?

Man... That's a useless trait if you never dip under 5% HP lost. XD

in GB 3 near death ability gives a boost in dps once you drop below the stated HP.. so this should be the same..

lots of people i see run near death remaining hp: 100% , but during assembly test i count find any damage boost or stat buff whatsoever nor does it trigger low hp attack bonus, could it be you have to take damage to trigger?

Inherent is either buffs like TransAm or NT-D, which sounds unlikely due to the existence of 'Trance', or it applies to skill that you have regardless of parts, which in this case would be the Repair EX skill.

Now whether or not mastered skills are considered inherent, now that's another question.

I swear Gundam Breaker and unexplained keywords. I'm still not fully sure if 'Parts Lost' applies to when 'my' parts are lost or when I inflict parts lost on enemy.

Also dear lord thank you for telling me that right/left didn't apply to greatsword cos I was putting both on it.

Now Cancel is keyword for cancelling moves, which was told from the tutorial in the beginning (very poorly tho). It applies to moves that interrupt your ongoing moves. So I assume that cancel EX are EX moves that you do to cancel. Or there might be certain ones that actually cancel, so I dunno.

And to make it worse, there's new stat only in the Cartridge part, called 'Hate'. What does it do? Does it buff your attack towards an enemy you target? Does it do that when an enemy attack you? Does it increase the likelihood of enemies targetting you? Who knows???

And I bet several new people wouldn't know that Reaction Speed refers to attack speed either.

I assume it's aggro or enmity meter, so it would affect how often you are targeted. I think the value for this is dependent whether you play Multiplayer (where maybe you wanted more if you want to tank) or less if running with NPCs.

Video? I need a spreadsheet.

I agree a spreadsheet is easier to consult.

Yeeeaaa not to undercut the amount of effort put into the research, but the dude is painful to listen. Bad pronunciation, smacks lips all the time and injects his opinion where he shouldn't.
I'd rather have him made an excel table, instead of this.

I still can't figure out what this trait truly does. I did test if Attack Power: When HP is Low triggers by it and it does not, however the unlocked Flinch Guard when near death seems to trigger all the time when you make your Near Death: Remaining HP% 100% or more.

i couldn't make it though any of his videos and instead scoured the comments sections where people explain concepts more succinctly and clearly

Best I can figure out is it increases the base HP needed, so if it normally triggers at 5%, having near death remaining HP at 100%, means it triggers at 10% now.

I like the guys videos. However a lot of the things he discusses goes over my head as he adds layers to other topics within the video making it harder to follow along.

Don't get me wrong for the most part those videos are helpful. But at times it still doesn't quite answer my question as in (THE WHOLE REASON I CLICKED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE)

It feels really dragged on. Like he talks about Hyper Trance for 7 minutes. Something like that could of been expressed in half that amount of time. It felt like fluff to me.

I get the testings and stuff and him showing us how it works. gives us numbers. But I have to go back to see the before and after damage differences.

TLDR I like the videos but they need polishing and should get to the point.
