Armored Core 6 is the better game, hands down.
However this game might be one you'd stick with longer if you're really into building/customising mechs.

If you want a heavier focus on raw mecha gameplay I'd say AC6, if you're a bigger Gundam/Gunpla fan and would rather a more robust customization/cosmetic side of things go for GB4.

If you like a gear grinder or kitbashing this'll be more of you taste, but other wise like other people already mentioned AC6 is better.

Very Very different games.

GB4
This is all casual, grinding, mech masher dynasty warrior like and putting you favorite plastic gundam pieces together. I'm enjoying it but make no mistake, it's brain dead relaxed gameplay.

AC6-no grinding, all the parts have very specific conditions and unlock predictably. Plenty to build on and tinker with. If your dream is to be badass mech pilot skill wise, this game will drive that into you if you pick up the skills. It's what a good number of players would imagine piloting an actual gundam would be like.

My fav experience in AC6 was playing my 2nd run and decided I'd use the starter kit, see how much my skills had developed without relying on the new gear. It was so fun and awesome. Enemies I'd barely beaten....I was tearing apart with the starter mech, they couldn't touch me! ^_^ so good.

* (btw you can play through AC6 3 times, story changes after first and 2nd. Also multiplayer PVP if you're into that)

Totally different genres, but AC6 is the better game overall easily.

GB4 is a looter shooter beat-em-up with a lot of RNG and grinding, while AC6 is a pretty well balanced gameplay focused third person action game.

AC6 is the better game. It's like a 9/10. While GB4 is more like a 7/10. They are however very different. AC6 is hard. GB4 is easy. AC6 is mechanically deep. Every part and weapon feels unique and impactful. But, compared to GB4 the customization is extremely limited in terms of number of options. GB4 has 300 different mecha designs. You can freely mix and match what you want. There's no real bad builds per say. Parts a can be rescaled. You can add decorative elements. And so on.

So it's up to what you're looking for. AC6 is more of proper game aimed at hardcore gamers. While GB4 is shallow with a focus on artistic expression. More like a digital toy box aimed at kids.

Both are mecha-themed games but they're not even remotely the same thing

if you're looking for one that makes you feel like you're piloting a machine, Armored Core. if you're looking for a hack and slash with a lot of options for visual customization, Gundam Breaker 4.

GB has better replayability and customization but overall Armored core 6 has better gameplay and story

Both existed for different purpose
*AC6 if you want to tinker your robot to a murderous T 800

*Gundam Breaker 4 if you want to create a shinny or hilarious mobile suit that still able to kick lots of ass

Honestly both are god-tier. If you want more shooting and a gruffer world setting, AC6. If you want more melee and customization and a fun setting, GB4. Personally I bought both at launch and don't regret either, both easily top games of the years they came out in.

in Elden Rings terms

if you care about how you looks and beating enemies is just extra
go for GB4
if you care about how your action beat enemies then suit accordingly
go for Armored core 6

bonus point for GB4 atm because multiplayer is currently active for both showing your build and skills

GB4 because you can create funny gunpla like doraemon

I wouldn't say Armored Core 6 is as difficult as other FromSoftware games, but if high-paced mech combat with a similar difficulty curve reminiscent of previous FromSoftware titles aren't your cup of tea, I'd recommend GB4 here. It's relaxed, chill, and a solid 30-ish hours of fun gameplay.
