How to increase the power of OP and EX skills

Anyone know what determines the damage of OP and EX skills? Escpecially for build parts? Can they be increased at all? Any help is appreciated.

Skill damage seems to be tied to your long-ranged and close-ranged part levels, since my Gaia legs were only level six but my weapons were max level, and the Vajra EX was doing numbers that my fully-upgraded parts were doing. I don't know if all skills work this way, but given Long-Ranged and Close-Ranged are the two categories that most skills fall into, I wouldn't be surprised.

search for parts that have affix of raising the OP or EX skill, usualy one set have this for their corresponding OP/EX, but they show up like "increase the damage of (insert name) OP by xx%", level them up by merging same type or with plastic

I mean, it says in the game that damage scales off of your weapons, and if you have a close/ranged weapon in each hand, it uses the average of them. And then yeah, there’s abilities that can increase different OP/EX skill power, the more specific the ability, the bigger the increase. (Attack Power: Barrage OP goes up to 10% I think, Attack Power: Long-Range OP only to like 5%?)

I don’t actually know what categories different skills fall into a lot of the time, though…
