Why didn't you wait to see how the game would be before dropping $100?
The rooms are BIGGER than most of GB3's, and I say that with some authority, since I JUST played that one this last week in anticipation of this one. They were LONGER to be fair, of the 30 maps, 20 or so were just corridors, made to be traversed.
There were some open maps like this one, the one at the end of the first stage, the one where you fight your first PG in space, the ice cold mountain top one, the ruins in the desert, the 'digital space' one for the two virus stages, the 'cosmic' arena where you fought will, and the final boss arena.
Of those mentioned, the only one that was bigger than these was the Final Boss Fight, and that was to accommodate it's summoning auto-cannons gimmick, as well as giving you some room to dodge everything during Phase 2 of the fight when you couldn't fight back briefly. The DLCs added a few more, the 'jungle' area, the roulette table, and two more 'cosmic' maps, which were about this size, but that was partially an illusion using wall tricks to make the area look more open.
NGB had bigger maps, but we don't want to go back to that(And the reason for the large maps was there were only 8 of them TOTAL(Not including the final boss arena map that was only for that one), and most missions took place on one continuously.)
Why did you not inform yourself before dropping 100$ on it?
Furthermore, the truth of the matter is that walking around in GB3 barely had any point AND it was actually a pain in the ass if you enjoyed playing slower builds or making chonky badonky Gunpla with anything but a slash and dash build.
It's not about corriders vs arenas or map size. When older games took you through a level they were taking you through areas from shows that you could recognize. The way GB4 handles mission structure it just puts you in an arena Sure it's from a Gundam show, but it doesn't hit as much with OH I'm in x place from X gundam show. GB3 kind of started this with it putting you in random areas that weren't connected during the competition. NGB levels weren't bad they just didn't tell you where to GO to complete it's dumb quests it sent you on. GB4 is just using a cross between GB3 and NGB.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this. I wound up literally just going into the bounty/duel mode to test out my ♥♥♥♥ every single time.
