in context of the game there are other ways they could’ve done it for instance already in the game whenever the text says your name the characters will said say “bud” instead of your name they could have just rewritten some of the lines to use bud or some other nickname instead of needing to use a pronoun for instance.
The one that immediately jumps out to me is how Tao would get very flustered during that time when he got paired with Sheena and Lilin, while you get paired with Lin and Mister. IIRC Tao even said something about "This is the first time being in a team with two ladies", implying that at the very least Tao doesn't see you as ladylike.
But yeah, other than that it's pretty nondescript.
yeah, but which gundam, there are like.... 1000 Different Gundams! (See what i did there?)
I have not played the game yet, so I can not really be absolutely sure about it, but it might have something to do with the Japanese anime trend that is going on. Which is all about male main character and a bunch of female characters. Basically harem-type anime which pretty much is the most popular anime genre in Japan for more than a decade or so now.
If you look at the anime release schedule, you will see that all the Japanese anime nowadays are either harem or BL (Basically gay anime). I kind of noticed New Gundam Breaker story was like that, too, so I guess they are doing that again in Gundam Breaker 4.
Lin also calls you a he.
That's even worse than being called "him"... That's more of an insult given how terrible they people tend to be
