How does this compare to 3?
I really love 3 and I even imported the sea version.

How does this compare?

2 missions in, but im feeling 3>4. This is feeling closer to GB 1 in terms of mission structure which is a step back in my opinion. but gb4 worthy features.

Gameplay is inferior, seems half finished. when you do close hit you don't get "boosted" toward the enemy as much so you can be stuck hitting the air during a combo. I feel like they tried recreating the 3 but didn't copy the gameplay fully. At least it's better than New Gundam Breaker but gameplay and animations/IA feels "weaker" than the 3.

Also the different skills can't be linked as fluidly as before, it seem more clunky and the fact than a little head vulcan can stagger lock you doesn't help.

Seems like I need to seek a GB3 PS4 Asian copy

Feels like a less brain dead version of 3 in terms of gameplay

There are less ways to make yourself OP (but I’m only half way into chapter 2)

Range weapons feel better but melee feels worse. Customization option is way better.

Stages have less bloat. I don’t have to traverse boring terrain to get to the next fight. Enemies spawn in, you fight, you fight reinforcements, you teleport to the next stage.

I wasn’t a fan of 2/3 where I’m traveling to the next fight picking up chests along the way. It all felt like a time waster.

There are enough variance for mission objectives to not make it too boring

My priority in GB is always customizing and this game does a way better job compared to 1-3

Having a lot more fun in 4 than I did in 3 so far, especially for customization

the excess use or perfect grade bosses with the million health bars is annoying to fight over and over and loot feels lacking, its fun but feels like something is missing from 3

I'd say, it's 3/4ths as good as GB3. It's better than GB1 and GB2, and vastly better than NGB.

Others don't but I'm loving the everliving ♥♥♥♥ out of the dual wield system.

I also don't agree with ppl saying the 'snap in' from hitting is worse than 3, it feels more or less the same to me.

I won't judge on the rest yet since its way too early and I have literally nothing except the early unlocks... you can't judge this game while rocking only whites and greens while the majority of us are probably way too conditioned to our completely minmaxed builds in GB3 ie rocking 130% boost speed, 200% movement speed bla bla.

It's way, way too easy to forget what it was like to start out clean guys... I bet none of you would ever want to restart GB3 from scratch either.

Combat feels a little off but once u get use to the controls u feel like a gundam mister but I do wish they let us start leveling up our own parts sooner ( I read online that u can start doing that in chapter 3) and my biggest complaint is after getting a weapon gun (example gn sword 3 rifle mode) u only get the gun and not the melee weapon mode (having a hard time grinding red astray dragons great sword that turns into a beam rifle that when hold down the trigger fires a continuous beam like the one shot from wing zeros buster rifle)

What feels lacking for me is the boss fight probably, not as much interesting as GB2 and GB3. Melee is much more slower with the weird combo chaining and minimum range to dash to enemy, ranged feels faster and good but still pretty much lacking the oomph that the predecessor have. Stages are a lot more fast paced so you don’t have to go through long ass stage but it’s still missing some interactive feels to it. Customization feels good but unable to view your transformation on paint is a bit pain in the ass. Ex skill is very weird for me, i prefer older ex skill but this is a welcome change, and option skill pretty much just feel the same but something to be noted is that the option skill feel so clunky and the missile option skill explosion doesn’t have the same impact as GB3 had. Awakening doesn’t have custom music during transformation is a bit bummer for me. Overall good game but could be better.

Is it better than GB3? To summarize it
Gameplay GB3>GB4
Customization GB4>GB3
Story GB3>GB4 (GB2 even better than these 2)

Do i recommend this game? Absolutely for gundam lovers.
But for non gundam lovers? It’s 50/50 very welcoming for those who like mecha customization but for those who want high octane action can play AC6 instead

I've cleared the first chapter of this game, and have cleared GB3 several times on different difficulties for achievements.

GB4 is well worth getting if you enjoyed 3.

Some good new features, the dual wield is good , and built-in part can be raised and get skills

I'm only a few misisons in myself, is there anything beyond basic 2-waves-and-a-boss and defend-objectives?

I just finished chapter 4 last night myself. Areas expand a little bit compared to earlier chapters, but it never really moves past the 3 wave structure. Contrary to what a previous poster said, I really liked the larger levels that needed to be traversed in GB3, so I'm a bit sad to see that they seem to be just arenas this time.

I'm also upset that the BGM doesn't change when you activate a super mode. It still changes for awakening, but it's always the same song and it gets boring very fast. I hooked up the Shining Gundam chest because I was psyched to hear the Shining Finger theme when I transform, but nothing. Very major bummer for me personally.

However, dual wielding melee weapons is extremely fun. I have a whip in one hand and a dual saber in the other, and I can use the whip to bring enemies to me and then use the dual saber charge attack to just shred them all. Once you get used to the branching attack structure, there's a lot of room to explore the combat.

I definitely prefer GB3 as a whole. This game is a step backwards for me. But I'm still happy to have it, and it's waaay better than NGB.

I have 2 on my PS3 emulator. Is this landslides better than 2? lol
