I get this is cool, but...
Can we just get a regular gundam game? Something story driven? Or even a VS game? G-gundam VS? There's a variety of gundam games, do we need another breaker?

Why do things i do not need or want get to exist?
Why was i, the protagonist of life, not consulted beforehand?

Projection is off the charts here.

So, remember the last conventional Gundam game -- Side Stories? It was an awful, terrible mess back on the PS3... but if you've got a decent PC, you really owe it to yourself to try emulating it: the game is fantastic at 60fps (where the PS3 version could barely manage 20), and has some of the coolest space combat to date (nothing beats taking out a whole fleet of warships in a few seconds).

Already came out -- it's Gundam Senki, or "Mobile Suit Gundam Senki: Battlefield Record U.C. 0081."

And it's freakin' awesome. Right up there with GBU as a serious contender for the best Gundam game of all time.

But this one IS story driven?
Even a bit TOO story driven, as I've started to skip dialogues because I can't stand onboxious glasses guy that just won't shut up.

Meh, the performance in Side Stories was certainly shaky, but the bigger problem with the game is that it took the stories and missions of other, slower, less action-oriented games and shoved them in a high-speed action mecha game.

Turns out shooting a bunch of tanks in Zeonic Front isn't nearly as interesting when you can get it done in like, 2 minutes by constantly boosting around at high speed while mashing attack buttons. A lot of the missions were just way too insubstantial for the format.

Also, I'll still take Climax U.C. over Side Stories, in terms of nailing the atmosphere of being in the middle of a huge battle.

Otherwise, yeah. 0081 is definitely one of my favorite Gundam games.

Also, I think you're forgetting that Code Fairy exists? It's weird in that it was released digital-only and episodically, and pretty much being story-mode GBO2 (afaik, I haven't actually played it), but it's a thing.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It's been a decade since 3, and 4 is a huge evolution. Don't get me wrong, I'd love another Gundam Assault Survive as well, but god yes we needed this. Certainly more than ANOTHER ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ VS game.

Yeah, some of the mission design in Side Stories was pretty blah. I definitely wouldn't call that the biggest problem with the game, though, considering it only affected certain missions, whereas the performance ruined *every* mission.

My point was more that what was a D-tier game on PS3 is a lot closer to a B-tier game is you can emulate it at a high framerate. Like, seriously, space combat is nuts -- especially in those missions that just throw a ton of enemies at you. It's definitely worth revisiting, I think.

Still need to try Senki on an emulator. Here's hoping it's not too hard to get the DLC working... I have very fond memories of taking a Gerbera Tetra, using all the highest-tier customization parts I could to massively boost its speed, and just *flying* across the maps, annihilating everything.

And, lol, yeah, totally forgot about Code Fairy. Speaking of D-tier games.....

Since Fromsoft has recently made an Armored Core game, how about an entry in the "Another Century's Episode" franchise?

Seems like it would be a good time for such a thing.

I'm reminded of how there were basically no samurai games at all for years and years because publishers just assumed there was no market for them... and then Ghost of Tsushima came out. Likewise, we haven't seen many mech games in the past decade and change, and then came Armored Core....

Though at this point it's been so long since the last ACE game they could probably populate an entire new game solely with characters/mechs released since ACE:R (that was the last one, right? I'm not gonna look it up).

What I want is a new Gundam Warriors. Those games were great. So much variety in pilots and gundams, and all in a game that just let you loose to punch things, no weird mishmash assembly or painful character-focused story trying to badly rehash shows we all already watched (or purposely avoided).
agreed I own every gundam warriors game and still have a ps2 and ps3 just to play them

For G Gen fans, cross rays is 5 years old, genesis is 10, and Eternal, which was supposed to be the new big united game looks to be dead.

Ghiren's Greed Menace of Axis V is 15 years and we are never getting another one.

I really want those, I love being able to collect warships and MS and MAs and use them all

I want Scamco to port all the different old Gundam games to PC rather than forcing people to play it on old hardware or emulators.

Otherwise, I wouldn't mind have another Mobile Suit Gundam Online personally.

Nah, ik VS had cool moveset and all but like Gundam Breaker, they have been reusing assets from a decade ago. I rather have a remake of Encounter in Space, or AU version of it. Or even better, if they bothered to make a new A.C.E.
