I get this is cool, but...
Can we just get a regular gundam game? Something story driven? Or even a VS game? G-gundam VS? There's a variety of gundam games, do we need another breaker?

Given that the last actual Breaker was like a decade ago and that we've never had one on PC, I'd very much say "yes" personally. But I may be (extremely) biased.

I feel your pain, don't get me wrong, I hope your turn comes soon. But for me and a lot of people this is the one we've been waiting for, and I hope you can be happy for us.

100% agree.

If GB3 were released on PC at some point, then the hype for this game wouldn't be nearly as immense as it is. But the reality is that GB3 was PS exclusive, AND it was never released in the west (western players had to import the Asian English version). This will be the first time a lot of people will get to play this series, and it will be the first time that returning fans will be able to play it on a decent platform and natively in English.

I get the desire for something else. But this is long overdue.

I would like another MS Saga game myself, but that's probably not going to happen sadly. I'm typically an RPG gamer by my library, and really enjoy a good story, and all the trappings of the genre. It's really sad since this franchise not only HAS a kind of level up mechanic in it's canon with the various 'altered/evolved humanity' types, but also has upgrades to the gundams/mobile suits that would give good reason to have equipment have a major effect.

There's been like 20 different EXVS releases between this and the last real Breaker. They're just stuck in arcade.

MS Saga was terrific, aye. Played it for the first time quite recently and had a grand time. Was impressed how well the progression through the generations of mobile suits worked and how rewarding it felt, and the story had some surprisingly great moments.
I think there's definitely room in the space for another MS Saga game right now. The Persona games are mostly traditional dungeon crawling JRPGs with some extra spice on them and they've been popping off for years now. There's that other JRPG coming soon, Metaphor Re;Fantasia (insane name) that people are hyped for too. Then you've got Yakuza making the transition from an action brawler with light RPG elements to a full-on JRPG with a job system and everything and it's been received quite well.
I think if this game does well, Bandai will be convinced that AC6 wasn't just a one-time thing and the people are truly starving for some more mech customization action. I don't know if MS Saga will ever return, but at the very least I can hope for a revival of Gundam games on PC after the immense bag fumbling that was Evolution.

i like what gundam crossfire was doing i wish it was executed better hope we get a real life gritty uc timeline game again like crossfire
Me personally I'd be a huge fan of something akin to Battlefield or even Planetside only with early UC Gundam. I know there was that old online Gundam game that may still be kicking around, but a modern rendition would be a breath of fresh air. Just me as a Zaku II with 30+ of my Zeon brethren trying to take out the White Base.

It indeed used the various suits well, and it used ones you wouldn't always expect, not just the Gundams, but also digging deeper into the Mobile Suits themselves. Heck, just have a Guncannon as something you get is neat.

That said, I love how the story tries to be the typical RPG type plot of orphans exploring a world of adventure...but has to begin with a cutscene that says 90% of the earth's population died on a single terrible day...like, that is some tone whiplash right there.

In fairness, it does a pretty good job of preparing you for the rest of the places the plot/tone go, heh.

What I want is a new Gundam Warriors. Those games were great. So much variety in pilots and gundams, and all in a game that just let you loose to punch things, no weird mishmash assembly or painful character-focused story trying to badly rehash shows we all already watched (or purposely avoided).

I'm alright for another Breaker title, but what I really want is some singleplayer/coop game similar to GBO2's engine where you can feel the weight of the suit in combat, like Battlefield Record 0081 and Code Fairy.
Azriel Aug 27, 2024 @ 5:31pm
Need another like battlefield record 0081. one of the best gundam games ever made. I still play it.

I played Crossfire. Ironically its biggest issue was the PS3. Ran like crap on it, was just an absolute wreck. But if you were to emulate it? It’s like a whole different game.

Oh MS Saga was my jam. I really need to go back and replay it. It deserves a remaster.
