how was the demo? Is there something for people who're not all over Gundam series?

I played the original Closed Network Test on Switch, and the game ran surprisingly well. The resolution was obviously lower than in the PS4/5 test, but each of the units still looked quite recognizable. And more importantly, the gameplay still felt smooth and responsive on the Switch.

As for what the game has for people who aren't dedicated Gundam fans: the Gundam Breaker games have always taken place in a separate world from any of the "proper" Gundam storylines. They feature original stories and characters that are themselves fans of the various Gundam series, but the player doesn't need to be familiar with those series to enjoy the individual experience. Additionally, the fun, frenetic gameplay and the collection-driven, in-depth customization systems are well worth the price of admission.

Speaking as someone who is all over the Gundam series, I'm not sure. The gameplay scratches a similar "simple fun" itch as Warriors/Musou games (with some stuff from Kingdom Hearts, like greater emphasis on lock-on and flight), and it's likely gonna have a big ARPG-esque grindiness to it (farming for passive abilities and their slots, as well as materials/money for part levels), but the main appeal (and longevity) comes from the big suit roster and the ability to mix and match parts with all of them (each suit consists of the head, body/torso, right and left arms, legs, and backpack, along with handheld melee and ranged weapons). You can also paint the parts to make those mixed builds look more cohesive (or less cohesive, if it suits you). So the question is: how interested are you in making custom characters, and with Gundam's mech designs? Because if you care about neither, this game likely isn't worth full price.

If you want a primer on the suits in this game, there's a nice Steam guide on the previous game with its entire roster including pictures, which are all returning in this game (note: this is from New Gundam Breaker, which has the worst gameplay in the Breaker series, so don't judge the other games too harshly by association):

It lists 250, but a good portion of them aren't wholly unique (there's color swaps, and minor model variants like a different head or onboard weapons).

As for examples of custom builds, apparently the Gundam Breaker 3 reddit is a good place to start, but I wouldn't know myself.

Honestly this game has a pretty niche target audience, the only appeal I can see with playing this game in an objective standpoint is if you want some mech customization that plays like a combo-based game of sorts by combining parts for movesets and affixes for stats, but I can't tell how deep would that be for GB4.

I guess if you enjoy a gameplay loop of grinding and looking out for parts and stats for your kit, that might work for you.

30 FPS,kinda like playing GB3 on ps4.

PS5 has better graphic, but most Japanese people are on NS, so the player base is a bit better.
