PC or Switch version?
Anyone think the performance/graphics of the switch version will be any decent?
Or would the PC version be better? (I don't have a controller, btw.)

PC is going to be better for sure, also if you have a switch pro controller you could just use that for PC games.

I'd go for the PC version just to be on the safe side for constant FPS when battles have a lot of things happening at once (i.e spawning enemies, playing animations, loading new areas etc.). I'm guessing you have a Switch controller so you calibrate it for PC gaming and use it for GB4 on PC.

I mean this is a PC forum, do you really think anyone here would say "oh yeah, go for the version that runs on last last gen handheld hardware!"?

If they shove Denuvo or something similar in PC version on release, switch version can be easier played for fr** just to stick it to bamco AND nintendo for their corporate ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I'll see just how big the framerate gap is between the two versions, if the Switch version is stable then portability will win out for me.

Also might wind up going with the Switch version anyway because I'm fond of physically owning my games when possible.

If you just burn steam's backed up game on BD you'll own a legal physical copy too.

I'd honestly rather just have a simple Switch cart than do that.

It all comes down to the port job really, if the footage we've been seeing has been from that version (or is similar) then I don't see a reason not to personally.

I mean if PC port is hardlocked to 60 fps and switch can also run at 60 fps, then I see your point.
But if it's like DXM where PC version can run at twice the framerate, which is imperative for real time games, then why bother with inferior version?
Maybe I just don't get the whole "portability" thing, but then again steam deck exists and it's more powerful than switch.

The value of frame rate to me depends on what's expected of the player.

Things like precision parries/dodges, precise combo timings and pinpoint accuracy for example, yeah a stable 60 is something vital I'd agree.

But lacking those specific traits I'm fine with a stable 30 personally speaking, but I'm also getting up there in age so maybe that's a reason why it doesn't quite matter as much, my reaction speeds ain't what they used to be and my vision nowadays is actually even worse.

For me it's not about portability, but it's the knowledge that I know It'll still be there for me when time goes by.
Nintendo has been somewhat decent when it comes to the conversation of owning your games and not having a temporary license Though I will say not perfect.

Recently i've become extremely skeptical about the idea of making PC game purchases due to the ongoing conversation of whether or not you own the game or you're given a license to play the game and it can be taken away from you by a whim of the company.

Well if they take it we can always pirate it in a future, and the system will probably be compatible

Yeah, just saw the official spec sheets and screen comparisons and it's a considerable difference there even when compared to PS4. If you really want the Switch version you might as well go all in and get the limited collectors so it's REALLY worth it.
