I don't understand why so much hate for a game that costs no more than $5 (I paid $1.25 for it, steam sale).

Well, if everyone is playing linke TastelessToast (what a fitting nickname), I can imagine where all the hatred comes from...

As said before: It has its flaws, but which game hasn't? I think it's a nice addition to the underpopulated stealth ganre.

I think Velvet Assassin may be a good example of how a review can destroy a game. When this happens with a film, you just go with your friends and see for yourself. This is not the case of a game though and the main reason why we are getting this game so cheap now may be that some people on metacritic gave it 61. On one hand its fine for me because it costs me nothing… on the other hand when I see the amount of detail in the game and the really decent visuals I think to myself Hey, this had to be a lot of work, I don’t actually even want to know how many hours have the developers spent on making this work and how much money did it cost… certainly not 5 bucks. So yeah, this is simply not a game for 1.25

It's just not a very good game imo. It doesn't really matter how much it costs, the experience of playing the game is not really entertaining enough to be worth the time it takes to play it. There are enough better games out there more worthy of your time to let this one slide by.

If you're really desperate for a new 10 hour game and are skint, by all means. Otherwise I'd leave it.

I agree but I think this is a terrible port I haven't been able to even play it here I've given up trying I think if they cared about the IP they'd be able to fix it, "is Velvet Assassin a good Game?" yes 100% its amazing, "is it worth buying here?" no not even a little, IMO.
