how do you alert the NPC's

Title. I already tried with the radio on all the time (in his bedroom) and with the tv whenever available but at 1:00am there's a blue screen of death so unless you can fix it I cannot turn it on

You have to play until mom alerts you of the intruder at the door. Go downstairs, peek him out the window and physically make a sound through a microphone connected to your PC. The intruder will then look at you and you'll get the achievement. This also opens up a new possibility to die, in case you're curious: just look away, then look back. The intruder will be gone. If you now open the door, he will jump at you and the game will crash.

I have a mic connected to my PC (tested w/ Discord and the Windows sound settings); however, it doesnt appear to be picking up the sound I make in game. Is there a options/settings screen where I can confirm which device the game is using for the mic?

My Solution

Start the Game in Windowed Mode.
Now my Antivir asked me if I allow the game to access audio stream > allow it

Now the Intruder can hear you when he is standing at the door at 1:18 and you can see him through the window next to the entrance door.

hey everyone, dont absolutely want to necro this discussion, but, for those who may have issues with microphone, my solution has been heading into windows settings and from the audio tab, increasing microphone volume to 100%.

that way it has been easier for the game to detect my voice and unlock the achievement.

Windows Settings>Sound>Input - Change your input device. Hope that helps.

You need to shout something into the microphone when that grandfather comes to the door and he leaves, then you will get this achievement.
