It's even confirmed that saves from Switch 1 would be able to be transferred to Switch 2, so there's absolutely no reason they couldn't have launched it for the other 5 platforms and gather the inevitable bug reports for the niche cases that always slip through.
It also seems like Toby has a lot of Japanese connections so that likely helped out.
On the other hand I imagine him and his team could use a break, which, this two month gap would help with.
Kind of bummed we have to wait two months for something that's clearly done just because of launch title but I get it.

I'm pretty much fine with this though. At least I KNOW it won't be coming any week now and can actually play other games without fear until then. That's a big relieve.
