You probably just needed a break so you could recover your energy, regardless if your last attempt was a day before or like a month.

Anyway, the answer definitely isn't that he got nerfed. I think the Deltarune DEMO's full release branch hasn't gotten updates in years. The beta version got a few updates during like October and November of 2024, but that's it. They stopped after that. Probably holding off on updating at all until Ch3/4.
