Anyone else prefers Ch.1's atmosphere and writing over Ch.2?

The pacing felt off, there's barely any time for you to breathe and take in the world with it's atmosphere.
There are few moody or mysterious parts/levels, that set the tone with interesting visuals and ambient music, sounds. Chapter 1 did a great job with it.

Not to say the visuals weren't impressive, it honestly looked great!
Just not as appealing to me. I really liked the creepier, more adult way Ch.1 was presented.

I understand it's supposed to be a less serious chapter, full of "memey" moments, with the whole cyber theme, but something about the way story progresses felt unnatural.

It was too much of a "roller coaster", where each part felt like a play that was designed to evoke certain emotions in lazy ways, characters didn't feel as relatable, while some went underutilized.
Even Lancer from Ch.1 was more believable. He was just a kid with his own interests, motivations, fears. He's then basically reduced to a joke
It's more like a cartoon, that's too afraid to take itself seriously.

I found the whole Susie/Noelle thing obnoxious and irritating, especially the Ferris wheel scene. It was pretty uncomfortable, it drags on, while feeling forced and out of nowhere. Does Noelle even know much about Susie, to be so utterly obsessed with her? We don't really get to see any hints at this, except for Ch.1's ending. It's a tiny hint, one you could have easily missed.

Undertale handled Alphys and Undyne, a similar dynamic, much more gracefully. It was organic, funny, didn't overstay its welcome. You don't even get to see it much, unless you pay close attention or play a certain route (which is only revealed after completing the game the expected way)

I apologize this is overly negative.
Despite all my gripes, I still enjoyed Ch.2 (it's completely free too!!!)
I must say, hearing Chapter 3 will be as humor oriented as Ch.2 was disappointing to me.

Chapter 2 was presented in a more adult way if anything. There's Spamton and the secret route.

Also, Lancer was always a goofy character, apart from that fight with Susie. They did King dirty, though.

Also, Susie and Noelle's cutscene is completely skippable. IIRC if you say you're not interested in what Susie's current situation is you can skip it.

personally i love chapter 2 more Queen, Berdley, Noelle, Spamton are extremely great characters and i could keep naming more but it would get redundant. the story is amazing, not to mention snow-grave route and the raw emotion with it.

one of my favourite moments is when Noelle and kris are walking on diffrent sides of traffic cones and pushing buttons to help the other move while the entire time Noelle is talking about the past and near the end of the scene we see a silhouette of a child her as she walks behind a building it was an amazing scene.

there is more i can mention like POTASSIUM and the ferris wheel and the infamous scene where Noelle is shaking Berdley while saying WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT. not even to mention the music that stuff is peak and i listen to it ironically. speed round of great scenes 3 2 1. Bluebird of misfortune, every thing with sweet kapn and cakes, POTASSIUM, giga queen, Spamton neo both snow-grave and normal route, Rouxles kard in general is great no matter where he is, Lancer, Acid tunnel of love, Smart race and the other battle with Berdley, Queen saying Burghley instead of Berdley, the remix of dont forget, EVERYTHING IN HOMETOWN and finally Susies ultimate heal. And with that i am done naming every scene i can think of but even then the scenes i cant are amazing in there own right.

And i should clarify i do love chapter 1 there are incredible characters in that too like Susie, Ralsei, Lancer, King, Lesser dad aka Rouxles kard (my GOAT), Jevil, Lancers bike, K-round, Mr Society (which yes is a real character he is my second goat.) and last but certainly not least

listen ill admit there were many moments in chapter one that i loved like the bucket, lancers bike getting tucked in and and Rouxles kard. but i imagine that chapter 1 introduced me and chapter 2 hooked me.

and that is why i like Chapter 2 better personally.
