You - the one in control
Chara - The evil One
Frisk - The good One
---
You as the one in charge can CHOOSE between these 2 Sides, but you can't actually type a choice on your own
(with some exceptions that doesn't affect these 2, like your name)
It's often theorized that Ralsei is some resemblance of Asriel, which is mostly because the name is an anagram.
But i don't think this is the case
---
I think Ralsei is simply the Frisk Part of Us, that isn't an actual Person we can see outside of the Dark World
Ralsei is full Pacifist and only Fights, when we CHOOSE to do so.
Susie is her own Person, it's made very clear early in the Game by her doing whatever she wants.
She's also an actual Person we see outside of the Dark World.
And when we reach the Night of the Game, we see the Chara Part of us become active, when we don't have control anymore.
---
I think the Theme of the Deltarune Series will be strongly about mental health, depression, fears etc.
but also friendship etc.
Since we as the "main character" aren't the only ones who struggle with certain problems, but also Susie, Noelle and Berdly in their own ways with their own issues
So Chara = Kris then?
-Both are very confusing morally
-love chocolate
-Have a sibling relationship with Asriel
-lack human friends
-ect.
"We as a player are the base, at first we're neutral and just taking choices."
I agree with this statement. At the start of either Undertale or Deltarune, the player assumes a neutral stance. However, as the game progresses, they lean towards one or the other.
"Chara is active at night (the cutscenes we get at the end of the games)"
I have a bit of a personal problem with this theory, but I can't deny the possibility of it being true. The similarities between the Chara cutscene at the end of a Post-Genocide in Undertale and the cutscene at the end of Deltarune CH1 are definitely there. However, I feel as if the "soul" in Deltarune plays a somewhat different role than that played in Undertale. Only case being the fact that Kris can move and act without the "soul" inside of them.
"Frisk is active during the Day when we travel to the Dark World - in the Form of Ralsei.
I don't think Ralsei represents at all in any way Asriel, but more a "brotherly" cute version we identify ourselfs as."
"It's often theorized that Ralsei is some resemblance of Asriel, which is mostly because the name is an anagram.
But i don't think this is the case"
I do agree with part of this. I do also think strongly that Ralsei is not meant to be some sort of alter ego of Asriel, or even Asriel's "dark world form". However, I do have to point out that Ralsei's identity might have already been somewhat spoiled since Chapter 1. Toriel has some dialogue at the end of the day when Kris comes back home, where she mentions that Kris had a "red horned headband" they used to wear to integrate and be more like their family, and implied that Kris has "lost it" ("whatever happened to it?"). From Chapter 2 we learned for sure that darkeners in our inventory turn to their corresponding real-world objects (Lancer turning to the ace of spades, and Roulxs Kaard turning to the "rules card" (lol)). So, I would think it's safe to assume that Ralsei is Kris's red horned headband, and his darkener form is also like his fursona or whatever... sorry about that. His darkener form is most likely what form Kris wished they had to better integrate in their family, instead of being a human (THE only human in town, mind you). Although, I find one problem with this: Kris is constantly being referred to as they/them, nonbinary. Their gender is ambiguous. However, Ralsei is straight-up referred to as a "fluffy boy". Ralsei being Kris's "fursona" is sort of defeating the purpose of Kris being referred to as nonbinary (unless Kris really, really wanted to be like Asriel in ALL aspects of him, even gender?). How Ralsei travels between dark worlds, or the fact that he doesn't appear to be on Kris's person as the red headband, is something that is up to further debate.
"Overall there are 3 "forces" as the character you play in Undertale/Deltarune
You - the one in control
Chara - The evil One
Frisk - The good One"
Oooh I am NOT opening this can of worms. This comment is long enough already. The only thing I'll add is that Frisk can be as much of a jerk as the player makes them to be in Undertale, and still get true pacifist ending. So, not entirely sure on the assigning them moral values part, especially to the dead child.
"You as the one in charge can CHOOSE between these 2 Sides, but you can't actually type a choice on your own

Also typing "legs" in your Mettaton EX essay answer. Don't forget that! Good, yes... you as the player can choose between being good or bad. For the reason stated above, I won't delve deeper into this particular subject. Something of note I'd like to point is that Chara is always portrayed as the bad guy, wielding a knife. Although, the knife is not required for the Sans fight. I'd like to see someone draw/animate the fight with the human bonking Sans on the had with the burnt pan, lol.

Well, yes. All darkners are actually toys/ objects from the Light World. With the added context that Ralsei seems to be special, and that "powerful foes" (as Seam names them) are a bit more aware because of the influence of the Knight on them. So, obviously Susie is her own person, since she's a lightner. Ralsei, on the other hand, is a darkner.
"And when we reach the Night of the Game, we see the Chara Part of us become active, when we don't have control anymore"
This night control Chara discussion I'd like to very quickly attribute to the soul actually not being Kris's soul, and instead our influence on Kris. Kris is their entirely unique individual that was unfortunate enough to be chosen for this. So I'd like to think they rip us from their body out of their own volition to get some control back (since the in-game nighttime isn't interesting to the player; nothing happens, so Kris has a "reason" to get us out and then get off-screen). Does Kris do anything murderous whilst they have control over their body? Not really, no.

I agree with this, but also the theme of escapism. As Toby Fox stated in a tweet I'm too lazy to quote right now, before Deltarune Ch1 released (?), he said that someone is currently making another game with a similar idea to Deltarune (paraphrased). Lo and behold, sometime after that, Omori released. Not spoilering Omori, but I can see the resemblance between the two games, and creating the connection between them can aid in theorizing further about Deltarune's world and events.
