TL;DW, if you don't want to watch the video. the draw of this theory, is that Mike is a pull-string microphone inside of a cowboy toy. Just like toby fox's short little remix of "you've got a (friend in<side> me)". Also connected to this, is that we, the players, as a soul was thrust into the soulless body of Kris (another "friend in me), something that only is touched upon directly when we fight Spamton in chapter 2.

Mike is possibly the superboss of Chapter 3, not it's main boss.

Then again Toby could be pulling OUR strings, and then the trash can of dead flowers becomes the real superboss anyway.
