Does Skipping Ralsei's tutorial give you the bad ending ch1?

Yes. Skipping Ralsei's tutorial will give you a bad ending. Also, you have to hug Ralsei at least 20 times. If you don't hug him that much then Ralsei will develop low self-esteem, and we can't have that happen.

Unless there was some change I wasn't aware of, pretty sure Chapter 1 ends the same no matter what

He's talking about Kris/Susie being run out of the kingdom instead of being reinforced by their numbers at the conclusion of the fight with the King.

Skipping the tutorial shouldn't make a difference since you can't kill the dummy even if you wanted to. Something else must've gone wrong that you just blanked out on.

I think Susie just knocked someone out first match I had, and I had to retroactively stop that first instance of her misbehavior
