Getting points in father goals

I don't understand how it's supposed to be possible to achieve any of the goals at the end of the game as a father (like "Daughter's reliable warrior!") since some points in each category disappear ever so often. Right now I only have points in "loves me a lot", and any points I get in other categories evaporate before building at all.
I'm chatting, giving allowance, mentoring and playing games as well as I can...
Is it a bug, or is there something I'm not doing?

Basically there is almost no room for error here. You must answer every chat question correctly, and have the father work the correct jobs based on your chosen type of father to earn additional points.

It's important to listen to the daughter's concerns every time. Choose the same background color as your father's type of background color (red, green, purple). It is generally successful if you do so.

Never considered the jobs, that might be my issue.

i played a session after the recent patches and noticed that my points didn't reset at all, so i think the points resetting was a bug that got patched
