Blacksmith Romance - Purchases shouldn't add affection points

It's too easy to romance the blacksmith, he gets a point everytime you buy something from him, so because I've bought so many fertilizers I have like 600 points with him every playthrough and can't romance anyone else. Purchases shouldn't add affection points.

I agree. It should only give affection when you buy everything at least once. This way it wont give too many points to where it might screw over any other romances you would try to do.

only downgrade is you lose the recently added ability to buy/sell multiple items

Agree whole-heartedly. It's somewhat tedious to have to "micromanage" the guy constantly so that relationship doesn't overtake whichever one you're trying to go for.

One thing I found somewhat useful for my high darkness run was stealing from him. If you don't get the upgrade to theft, there's a 70% chance to get caught, which reduces your relationship with him by 10 points. There are also a few random gifts that seem to get everyone annoyed if you give them to a person, such as the bloody shackles from the third adventuring zone or the bloody towel from the bathhouse. (I know her place is a bit sketchy, but it's kind of suspicious beyond that to keep finding bloodied towels, Mary...)
