BUG: game 100% frozen after letter

i tried to submit thru the google form but couldn't get it to work so i'm posting the bug i've experienced here.

i clicked on the 'letter' to read it, received the gift and the entire game is frozen. have to force close the game.

on re-restart i still cannot progress further. so now i'm completely stuck and cannot play/advance.

I have the same issue and judging on an other discussion post, the issue is experienced by everyone. So we just have to wait for an update. I recommend filling out a bug report until then.

Just got the same issue. Got a letter from some guy, clicked Present button at the bottom and the game froze.

I'm having this same issue. Worked fine when I played last night, then the latest patch seemed to have broken it.

On my first playthrough the gift thing actually worked but on my second one when i try to recieve the gift I got a frozen screen which is super annoying

There's a quick fix.

Press windows key + R. Type in "steam://open/console"

download_depot 1669980 1669981 7590118745015040093

Then go to your steam folder > Steamapps > Content > app1669980 > depot1669981
And then copy the contents of that folder. Go to the game local files and paste the files you just copied. replace everything.

I'm stuck with this one too. Not being able to get the books that come in those letters is a pretty severe handicap... I guess you can still get them later when they fix it, but I'd rather have those stat boosts available as soon as possible. Here's hoping they also get the fix for this out ASAP.

Same here.
I skipped the letter to keep going, and then the game froze and crash when I went to train horses, too.
Latest patch might have been destabilizing >_>'
