Honestly, another neat addition related to this would be the inclusion of being able to use a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and the like.
...and yeah, overhaul is definitely an option I'd like to have as well.
When it comes to the nozzles: Yes, in Firefighting Simulator: Ignite you will be able to switch between straight steam and spray mode...or to youse foam instead of water, if needed. Vertical ventilation will also be included...as well as thermal cam function :-)
Have you guys considered VR support?
This guy knows what he's talking about. A fog nozzle on straight stream is quite a different thing from a smooth bore nozzle. The latter operates at a lower nozzle pressure while putting out a lot more water. At my station we have phased out fog (adjustable) nozzles completely and only have them in the cabinet as an option if needed for special limited circumstances. All of our pre-connected nozzles are smooth bore.
To compare, with the equipment we use, operating a 1-3/4" hose: a fog nozzle on straight stream setting puts out 95GPM at 100PSI while the smooth bore nozzle at only 50PSI puts out over 160GPM. That's a significantly greater amount of water for only a slight increase in nozzle reaction.
Hopefully it's something you can look into once the games out and in a state you're happy with.
One of my favourite Nintendo Wii games was Real Heroes: Firefighter and ever since getting VR I've always wanted a similar game with VR support.
I know there's modders that add VR support to UE5 games so hopefully it can be implemented at a later date either officially or via mods, though it would need full motion tracking for controls, controller in VR defeats the whole point of VR to me.
