Can't start the game

Hi there,

I got the game yesterday and I can't get past the little intro screen.
Everytime it crashes back to windows with the following error message:

How can this be fixed?

Have you tried verifying the integrity of game files? (Library -> Right-click on game -> Properties -> Installed Files -> Verify integrity of game files)

Yes, that was the first thing I did but all files are ok.

A search of the error message gets this other topic, so you're not the only one. A dev did answer that one, back in January 2023, suggesting potential solutions (and saying they'd look into it, but again that was in January 2023) : https://steamcommunity.com/app/1669420/discussions/0/3734079567825048915/

By the way, did you try unplugging your controllers, if you have any?
And do you have any antivirus that might prevent the game from accessing some files due to a false positive or something like that?

Thanks for the link, but there is no real solution mentioned.
And that the topic is over a year old worries me because it means that the dev never got a solution to this problem.

A real shame, this means I have to refund the game.
