Could not find a supported GPU

After hotfix everyting was going fine. And now I can't launch the game, getting this message.

Using RTX 3050 with newest drivers.

Without hotfix it runs but crashes as before.

Seriously, what the hell.

Same, I'm with a RTX 2060 Super and was doing just fine after switching to hotfix branch. Game ran perfectly, now it's just saying that could not find a supported GPU. It's really sad a great game like this is going haywire at launch : /

So, i followed the instructions from the devs in another thread. Here's what to do (i followed the instructions and now it works, try it and see)

Hey Suculento, if the game is selecting the incorrect GPU you can do the following.

Open Documents\Paradox Interactive\Age of Wonders 4\Config\PlatformSettings0.cfg
Remove Video.DisplayAdapterID
Set Video.DisplayAdapterName to your GPU Name.

You can determine your proper GPU Name from the Device Manager, under Display Adapters.

My adapter name was <default>, after renaming it to my GPU's name from the device manager, it now works again.

Can you please show content of your file ? like string you changed and 2 lines above and beyond ? i tried myself, but nothing changed, wanna check if i made smth wrong

Huge thanks. I failed before by using name with <>.

But seriously, devs, step up your game, fix this ♥♥♥♥.

It's a great game, but I can't give it "recommended" review while you have to manually fix your config file.

Have you updated the Hotfix branch today? Cause we pushed more fixes including methods for setting your GPU in the settings menu.

I thing I did. But to change settings in the game, you have to actually launch it, so I still had to use method described above.

Tried to do this fix but my Config folder is empty

I'm getting the same GPU error when trying to run on my laptop. My Config folder is also empty. Anyone know why/have any other potential fixes? The game runs just fine on my desktop, so I'm thinking about copying the files from the Config folder on desktop and pasting them into the Config folder on my laptop.

Edit: Tried copying over the file from my desktop to laptop and changed the GPU name to match the GPU in my laptop. Still getting the same error of "no suitable GPU". All drivers are up to date, hotfixes applied, Visual C++ and DirectX up to date based on error codes thrown during startup...Going to try uninstalling and reinstalling next. Beyond that, doesn't seem like this game will be playable on my laptop until there are some major bug fixes, unfortunately.
