Multiplayer Hosting "Error code: -2"

Title is the short version of it, and the long version is that any time I try to host a lobby, no matter what map, number of players, modifiers, anything. The game keeps throwing an error code
"Post game Failed"
"Error code: -2"

For note, I can join other games just fine, I am simply not allowed to be the host.
I am putting this under bug reports because it has been an ongoing issue, and persists after game verification, Steam file repair, moving it to a new download location, ensuring firewall access...
If there is a easy fix to this I have somehow overlooked it and would appreciate some guidance on how to be able to get past this issue.

That is very specific. If you haven't yet could you make a bug report on the Paradox Forums and include a game log from when you attempted to host a session? Then we can most likely see why it errors out.

This is not very specific, got same issue. And that is in addition to all other multiplayer issues with out of sync in EACH manual battle and sometimes also on global map. Sometimes game just crashes without any error messages. Manual battles get stuck, sometimes even revert option doesn't fix problems and sometimes revert takes you like 5 turns back or takes you to the same point in game no matter how many turns you were lucky to make from that point without desyncs and other issues. Making content packs when having such problems with multiplayer looks strange, even though thay are probably made by different people, not those addressing multiplayer issues (judging by the state of multiplayer i am not sure they exist at all though). It's a shame that otherwise quite enjoyable and solid game with even greater potential is hardly playable in multiplayer, especially considering the fact that tactical battles, in which you can team up with your friends, are one of the cool and unique features this game has to offer. What is even more surprising, previous installment, AoW: Planetfall, had quite stable multiplayer, and it is hard to understand, how situation became worse.

Not to sound too impatient, but I am still suffering from the same issue. Is there any update?

different issue no error message but im unable to join a ongoing session it loads then goes back to screen, tried starting a new game one play loaded fine to had a black screen with ingame cursor.. game was fine yesterday.

I have the same issue, I am unable to host/start new multiplayer sessions of any size or type. When I try to launch them, I receive Error Code -2. I am able to join the games of others just fine.
I will try reinstalling the game.

I got this issue a while ago, but both me and a friend were having the same issue at the time, so we assumed it was a server side error. Now months later, I am the only one with the issue.
I verified game files, set the game to high priority, turned of cross-progression, reinstalled, and so on but still the same code. My friend can host a session, but not start it due to the error on my end.
